Nashville Review:

The Belcourt Theatre was the venue of the night and it was a wonderful place! The sound was AMAZING and all the fantastic reviews I've read of Low Anthem did not disappoint! I'm definitely buying their album!!!!

Set list, from what I remember(I don't remember the exact order):

An Ocean and A Rock
Splishy Splashy
My Pirate Disco
Queen Of Hearts(Mary Janes cover)
Pistachio
I Don't Know(retitled "We Love Stephen Colbert")
Lille
Teeth
Venn Diagram
The Lady Is A Tramp(cover)
Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues(Bob Dylan cover)
Blurry
Playground Love
Courting Blues
Sea Song
-----
a John Martin cover I didn't know, but she said it was her favorite song
Keep It All
Free Until They Cut Me Down

I thought it was awesome that they did "Blurry"! It took them a moment- they messed up the first couple of tries- but it was great! Part of Lisa's hair fell out of her ponytail during one of the first couple of songs and she said something like "but there's been no crazy dancing yet!"

She mentioned they had been watching The Wire in the bus.

Overall I thought it was a very, very nice concert!!!! I really enjoyed it!

yes Marti (sorry i haven't responded, been riduculously busy) anyways, she was great. She played at a church, very intimate and nice. Here's a pic from this site

They also have pictures of what i think was the day before during her day show, towards the end.

You're most welcome, Valentino! I didn't even know that "Playground Love" was a cover. Thanks for that tidbit of info

^ Lol, hope you can save up the money without having to resort to eating nothing but beans & rice for the next month . . . are you a university student? You can try begging them to let you have a discounted student price, and if that fails, see if your local paper or school paper would give you a bit of money in exchange for an article about the concert?

^ Ah yes, I forgot about good ole Ramen . . . I lived off of those, SpagettiOs and peanut butter in college . . . can't stand them now, except I am slowly getting the taste for peanut butter back.

New US concert date!

26 US Concerts To Fight AIDS In Africa

Quote:
A series of 26 concerts has been announced across the US featuring a host of bands from Santigold, Gomez and O.A.R to Fall Out Boy and The Veronicas to raise money and awareness for the ultimate goal of eliminating AIDS in Africa.

The (RED)NIGHTS series has been organised by RED, which is a business entity created to raise awareness and money for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, in association with the world's largest live music company, Live Nation.

Other performers in the lineup include Lisa Hannigan and The All-American Rejects.
Russell Wallach, the President of North American Alliances for Live Nation, says that RED was looking to engage more people in its mission, to help eliminate AIDS in Africa and the (RED)NIGHTS series is an innovative concept that combines the power of Live Nation's live music platform and venues to use people's passion for music to raise awareness and, ultimately, generate more money to help eliminate AIDS in Africa.

"We're building a great line up of artists for (RED)NIGHTS and believe we can help (RED) successfully deliver its message by connecting them with music fans all over the country," he said.

The (RED)NIGHTS artists will join an impressive community of (RED) artists who are participating in (RED)WIRE the innovative new digital music service from RED that includes U2, Coldplay, The Killers, Jay-Z, Elvis Costello, Sheryl Crow, Neko Case, Noel Gallagher and Michael Franti and many more.

Information about the events already scheduled for the (RED)NIGHTS concert series can be found at http://www.livenation.com and http://www.joinred.com/rednights.
Her exact tour date/venue hasn't been set yet, but it'll be updated here: http://www.joinred.com/rednights/Tickets.aspx

Default 2 new US shows!

Lisa's scheduled for an in-store in NYC on the 15th:

Quote:
If you're in New York City on June 15, make sure to stop by the Tribeca location of Barnes & Noble. Lisa and the boys will be doing a free in-store performance at 1 pm. If you haven't already got your copy of Sea Sew, this will be a perfect opportunity to pick one up. There'll be a CD signing after the performance too!
And she's also going to be on The Artist's Den!

Quote:
The Artists Den is pleased to offer the chance for you and a guest to attend an intimate, invitation-only performance by Lisa Hannigan at a secret location in Montclair, New Jersey on Wednesday, June 17. If selected, you will be emailed details and added to the guest list for this special private concert. Just a note, this show will be recorded. If you're over 21, visit The Artists Den to enter.

Argh. Seems like I was in NYC a week too early!
