That's quite a good recording... Thanks a million. I don't suppose you'd have happened to record the show?

I never said I was "against" making a good quality recording of a show for trade, I said that I think it's inappropriate for people to have flash photography as opposed non-flash, and to need to call people from their mobile phone to hear thirty muffled seconds of distortion and cheering is silly. And that taking pictures that are about 30x30 pixels in size with a telephone that beeps every time you press a button and makes some noise that's supposed to sound like a camera shutter every time you take a "photo" is just stupid and unnecessary.
Anyway, I'm going to bed. And then I'm going on a picnic... I shall be well enough to type by tuesday.

i say thank god/goddess and all that is holy for people who call on their cell phone so you can listen for 30 muffled seconds from half a world away.. and for people who tape shows you would never get to hear in a million years otherwise
goodnight there seano.. hey, have fun on your picnic you guys! Quote:
i used that download them all extension for firefox and it downloaded in less than a minute! i do have broadband but still.. that's pretty fast! |

Vicar St August recordings
Okie dokie. I recorded both nights.
The first night was recorded from the floor. I had some problems with my recording gear so it's not a complete recording but I think 90% or so if it's there. Also, there was a lot of chattering around me and two friends with me (the Ryan Adams fan and her friend that we let stand in front of us - you know who you are - and also Worzel Gummidge and his mates beside us, thanks for chattering !!!). I havn't listened to the recording fully but it sounds reasonably ok given the circumstances. The second night was recorded from the balcony using different microphones. It's a complete recording and came out very good IMO - you can listen to the download from my previous post and make up your own mind. Unfortunately I don't have much free time at the moment so I can't guarantee when I'll get time to transfer the recordings to CD but hopefully I'll get to do it in the next 2 weeks. A couple of my trading contacts from the past have sent me PM's. I'll send copies onto them in the near future and hopefully it'll filter it's way around the world. Of course I'd be surprised if someone else didn't record one or both shows so maybe another (better) recording might surface. Anthony |
