Question Collaborations

So .. I have been thinking for a while about who I would like to see Damo hook up with for a song... Personally I would like to see one with The White Buffalo.. Probably the 2 greatest artists from this generation ! Any other suggestions.?

Wow imagine if he got together with that great irish band bell x1!!!!! that would be amazing! they could name them selves strawberry or something....

sorry couldn't resist.

seriously, I don't know who he would go well with i think he's done pretty damn well with lisa hannigan to be honest. I really like his collaboration with Herbie Hancock actually. I'd never heard of the guy before.

i've said it before, but i would love to hear damien and patty griffin sing together.. they both have intense, intimate voices and i would love to hear the interplay that and their different musical influences might have

otherwise i'd like to hear him hook up with a david byrne or brian eno or robert fripp and do something really progressive and out there with his music.. maybe start composing symphonies like frank zappa

Hey guys, I'm new here! This seems like a great place. Ok I better get back to the subject though...

I would really love to see Damien collaberate with Rob Thomas. I think they would sound great together. Both have somewhat similar songwriting styles and really great voices. Another one that would be cool would be Damien and Santana or adding a little bit of electric guitar.

Damien should collaborate with Peter, Paul, and Mary.

I think Damien would sound good with Paul McCartney as well.

Oh god, I'm sorry, but that 'amazing talent' just made me f*cking vomit my own lung. Aural sodomy as they call it in Galway...

By the by, Audity, Did you know that The Todd's name is Todd Quinlan? According to my Scrubs dvd anyway. It doesn't seem quite fitting for him. Perhaps Burgandy or something like that.

No one's mentioned David Gray yet? Damien is a fan of him, so it would be an honor for him to play with David Gray for him, as well be a treat for us. Also their stylings would mesh well.

I don't know, It would almost seem pointless I think. Their styles are too similar to get any real musical value from a collaboration. The best thing about different artists working together is the shock value of something actually coming of it. For instance; Had this thread come up about two years ago with someone suggesting that Lisa Hannigan would do well if she worked with Faultline, people would probably have said either a) you're an idiot. or b) who the f*ck are Faultline. Yet the actual value of their collaborating is that the blending of styles isn't obvious, it's just good... and unxepected.
