Damien Rice and Youtube

Just a simple question... I've seen there were a lot of videos and pictures on Youtube & Co taken by fans during the gigs.

I'd like to know IF someone know IF it's Ok for him or not, because he doesn't get any penny/cent from these should-we-call-them-illegal tapings.
I'm just a bit curious, coz I"ve been in paris twice this week to see him, and no one at the security bothered the fans with their cameras/photophones/handycam. Maybe because it would be overwhelming to handle?
Or Would it be an easier way to spread / promote damien's music over the internet for free?...

Anyway, On July 04th, the crew were taping the show. one of them told me it was a personnal footage for the band (it seems that they have done it regularly during the tour), and someone else told me it WOULD be on a Bonus dvd on the next album. I don't know what to believe. I've asked one of the crew if We could expect something for X-MAS, "Maybe, I don't know..." was all i get...

PS : I believe in santa, I've been a good boy all year long... well at least those first 7 months

When I went to see him in Denver I had my camera bag with me (I'm a reporter so I like to keep it with me all the time), they wouldn't let me in with it. Had to run all the way back to my car... grah.

Still can't believe they took that wonderful acoustic version of Cold Water down (Rolling Stone sessions), but i don't know if Damien & co had something to do with that..

hey i think i have that video i downloaded an acoustic version of cold water from youtube i dont know if it is the right one but its just him and lisa and hes wearing a light coloured shirt on there were also a few short interviews he gave during the same session which i have as well let me know if you think its the same one and ill upload it to youtube and you can download it before they take it down again phew that was long and im on my phone hence this being one verrry long run on sentence

Damien secretly owns Youtube (which means he also owns Google) ... His goal is to make it the only profitable "green" company in the world.

Some bands permit taping and photos, some dont. Anything that has to do with the Rolling Stones is NOT permitted, I believe they are copyright crazy.
Some Venues will not permit photos or taping also.
I guess that we should look and see if he says anything about it. At least in my case the YouTube Videos got me interested enough to buy the CD. So in fact they could be a good thing for him. Not only that but it gets his music out there where people hear it and in turn buy tickets and CDs.
