Default Tour Countdown

Less than a week to go to the start of the Australian leg of the tour. Perth is up first. How many Eskimos will be there? We'll be wanting reviews, photos, stories... After the time off, and with being in Australia, Damien & co should be in flying form. I can't wait.

I'll be at the show on Thursday in Freo.....I'm litterally counting down the hours now - can't wait.

I'm taking my best friend along to see him (and hopefully convert her)into a fan) I'll get her to take photos for me (so that i can fully enjoy the show). I'll post a little review and put some photos up for everyone probably next weekend.

Shard - I remember reading somewhere that Damien played The Civic Hotel back in Oct 2004. It was a few months before i discovered him - so this is my first time seeing him too. I never thought i'd get to see him tour Perth again as we seem to miss out on so many artists. Can't believe we scored the Snow Patrol gig too - what a week this will be.

ok WOW. best concert ever!

somewhat of a setlist (kinda in order)

Cannonball
Elephant
The Professor (with Lisa sinigng the "i don't know if im wrong" verse and the french part - amazing)
Rootless Tree (piano version)
Woman Like a Man
Amie/Eskimo
Coconut Skins
Be My Husband(nina simone cover? damo doing a drum beat on his guitar with lisa singing. another highlight)
Volcano
9 Crimes
7 Nation Army (vivian singing and on the cello. now this was mindblowing)
Grey Room
Delicate
I Remember (lisa forgot the lyrics in the first verse, was a laugh)
-----
Cold Water
The Blower's Daughter

the biggest highlight would have to be i remember. it was just unreal seeing it live, after listening/watching countless live recordings at home. shivers all the way through

security didnt let us hang around at the end, but i did get to meet lisa and vivian who were lovely. i got a couple of photos. i also got lots of videos so i'll upload them to youtube some time

ANYWAY, time for bed. what a great night

Do you mean Nina Simone's My Baby Just Cares For Me??? Be My Baby is a Ronettes classic soul song...

yep i have a video of I remember
i had to turn down the quality because i was running out of room on the memory card, so the video isnt best. but the sound is ok
i'll try upload it to youtube tonight
it was quite funny, because when they started the song again the first line is "i remember it well" classic

Shard…am I god damn pleased that you got the view you did....I had possibly the most hellish day for my first ever Damien gig – started with a leftover migraine from the day before which thankfully eased off during the day. Work was flat out busy I could not get away until much later than I planned. Finally got to the venue about 6.30pm and my heart just sank when I saw the crowd of people there. God where did all these Damien fans spring from? Ended up being a fair distance away on the museum side. I was so disappointed but thankfully everyone was sitting down so at least I got a clear view. Needless to say my photos are pretty crap - then to top the night off my batteries ran out after only five photos.

Shard you had the most amazing view by that video footage you downloaded – please please post some of your photos - would love to see them.

Well you were spot on with that set list – I could only see one missing song and it’s the only song I did not know. I was kinda hoping you might have been able to help me with that one – I asked so many people around me and know one knew it either. It was sung (i'm pretty positive) after Lisa sang Be my Husband…just Damien singing …for the life of me I can’t recall the words but I seem to recall "black hair" being mentioned....god i seriously hope i'm not dreaming this up after all i had possibly taken more painkillers than were required that day. Can anyone solve the mystery?

What a show it was...will try to post some more later...plus might be able to post those dodgy photos too.

hey mesmerised

well it was a pretty good spot but i wasn't totally happy with it. see i had been planning the day for ages, and i was going to get there at 3pm and then hang around freo until there was a hint of a line. except my friend who was suppoesd to finished work by 1, actually meant by 4. so when i got there there was a line already. i was pretty pissed off because i wanted that front row spot. anyway, it was alright. but 2 drunk guys came and sat down in front of me which was annoying ebcause they kept talking and i had to video over their heads

anyway, yeah i didnt nkow what that song was either. so i'm not sure if it was his or not. a lot of people cheered so i was confused because i didn't know what it was. im sure somebody here will know, it did have "the girl with black hair" mentioned in it a bit

i didn't really take any photos, they turned out bad because i still had to zoom to get an alright shot. but i took plenty of videos - i just need to find the memory cards, i think i dropped them in the car (hopefully i didnt leave them behind at the venue)

im trying to upload "i remember" at the moment. its a great video even though its not the best quality. i love it when lisa forgets the lyrics, just to watch the interaction between them
