I know its Stupid, but is there actually any way of e-mailing any of the lobby regulars (like the bigger names) and see what they make of it?? mark geary said it was the best place to do a gig in ireland and seems as its the city of culture year there could be some small hope of a fund raiser??? anyone with me??? (any forum powers that be? any help??)

LONG LIVE THE LOBBY!!!

I doubt any fundraiser would raise 1.2Million! And it would probably need more to make any changes (if a fire-escape were needed...) And then who would run it...

Let's just hope some developer see's it's potential as a music venue.

well seeing as it was the third on the same knee.....i do hope it did......now enough about my knee surgery, back to saving the lobby......

starting to think it's very unlikely that it'll be bought and refurbished as a music venue.........it's an absolute disaster

to quote John Spillane

"They were magic nights in the Lobby Bar
When Ger Wolfe would sing like a lark
Singing;
" I am the blood of Erin, spilt in an empty cave
I am the flower of Ireland, out on the drifting wave
I am the lark of Mayfield, tumbling down the hill
I am the child of summer, I can remember you still"
And every word that Ger would say
Would send me away, send me away
Away through the window, away through the rain
On a carriage of music, away in the air
To a field by a river where the trees are so green
The deepest of green that you've ever seen
Where once you have been you can go back again
You can go any time, you can go any time
'Cos it's only in your mind"

And where do all the buildings around them have their fire escapes?
