[Verse]
G C
Woke up and for the first time the animals were gone
Am D11 G
It's left this house empty now, not sure if I belong
Em Am
Yesterday you asked me to write you a pleasant song
B7
I'll do my best now, but you've been gone for so long
G C
The window's open now and the winter settles in
Am D11 G
We'll call it Christmas when the adverts begin

I love your depression and I love your double chin
B7
I love 'most everything that you bring to this offering

[Chorus]
Am G Am G
Oh I know that I left you in places of despair
Am G Am G
Oh I know that I love you, so please throw down your hair
Am G Am G
At night I trip without you, and hope I don't wake up
Am G Am G
'Cause waking up without you is like drinking from an empty cup

[Chorus]
G C
Woke up and for the first time the animals were gone
Am D11 G
Our clocks are ticking now so before our time is gone
Em Am
We could get a house and some boxes on the lawn

We could make babies and accidental songs
G C
I know I've been a liar and I know I've been a fool
Am D11 G
I hope we didn't break yet, but I'm glad we broke the rules
Em Am
My cave is deep now, yet your light is shining through
B7
I cover my eyes, still all I see is you

Coconut Skins.

This riff is just |Em |G | with a bassline
between them. It's played the same during
the entire song. The only thing that varies
is how hard you play the strings. As always:
listen to the song to get it right.

And she may cry_____ like a baby. And she may dri____ve me cra____zy

Tell me if you want me to lie

[Verse]
E G#m
'Cause this has got to die, this has got to stop
F#m Am
This has got to lie down, down with someone else on top

You can both keep me pinned, ‘cause it's easier to tease

But you can't make me happy quite as good as me

Well you know that’s a lie

Damien Rice - Grey Room - 9

No Capo
Standard Tuning

Intro
C/G

C/G
Well I’ve been here before,
I’ve sat on the floor,
In a grey grey room,
C/G
Where I stay in all day,
I don’t eat, but I play,
With this grey grey food,

C/G
Desole
If someone is prayin’,
Then I might break out,

C/G
Desole
Even if I scream,
I can’t scream that loud

Em
I’m all alone again,
Crawling back home again,
Just stuck by the phone again,

C/G
Yeah, well I’ve been here before,
Sat on a floor,
In a grey grey mood,

C/G
Where I stay up all night,
And all that I write,
Is a grey grey tune,

C/G
So pray for me child,
Just for a while,
And I might break out yeah,

C/G
Pray for me child,
Even a smile,
Would do for now,

Em
So I’m all alone again,
Crawling back home again,
Just stuck by the phone again,

Chorus

G
Have I still got you to be my
F
open door,
G
Have I still got you to be my
F
sandy shore,
G
Have I still got you to cross my
F
bridge in this storm,
G
Have I still got you to keep me
F
warm,

C/G
Coz if I squeeze my grape,
F
And I drink my wine yeah,
C/G
Coz if I squeeze my grape,
F
And I drink my wine yeah,

C/G
Yeah, Oh coz nothing is lost,
C/G
This is frozen in frost,
F
And it’s opening time,
F
And there’s no-one in line,

G
But I’ve still got me to be your
F
open door,
G
I’ve still got me to be your
F
sandy shore,
G
I’ve still got me to cross your
F
bridge in this storm,
G
And I’ve still got me to keep me
F
warm,

C/G
Warmer than warm yeah,
F
Warmer than warm yeah,
C/G
Warmer than warm yeah,
F
Warmer than warm yeah.
C/G
Warmer than warm yeah

The stupid situation now where everything goes wrong
F C G

Great... I've been looking for some of those since I've been too busy to tab them for myself lately. However, in Rat Within the Grain the E's should be Em... it's a minor chord. I haven't listened to the song in awhile, but I'm pretty sure.

Thanks for compiling these!

rootless tree

I'm not sure if this is right but I play it with these chords and it sounds right
Just listen to the song and figure out the picking. Sorry for my englisch

Capo 4

e----0-----0-----0-----0--------|
b----0-----3-----0-----0--------|
g----0-----0-----0-----2--------|
d----2-----2-----0-----0--------|
a----2-----3-----2-----0--------|
e----0-----0-----3-----2--------|

and I think this "and it leans on me like a rootless tree" part is maybe

e----0-----0------------------|
b----5-----3------------------|
g----0-----0------------------|
d----4-----2------------------|
a----5-----3------------------|
e----0-----0------------------|
