Is anyone goin to seem him at the Tower Theater in Philly on April 15? I somehow gathered up enough money ($35) to pay for the ticket. I remember a year ago I saw Damien for $8 in a place about the size of a living room called the Fire also in Philly. I was also wondering if he has been playing any new stuff on his tour?

I'm headin to the Tower Theatre tonight to see Damien. Also, I
was at The Fire when Damien first came to town and then at the TLA the time after that. Two of the greatest concerts I've been to in my life so I can't wait to see what happens tonight.

Really? Therefore you and I make up half the audience at that Fire show. I couldn't make the TLA last fall, saw him last spring at Tin Angel and Fire, and XPN SSW.

haha yeah, there was like 10 people in the audience and the rest were
the families of the opening acts. I do remember the girl that opened up being really cute, I don't know whatever happened to her. I saw him at XPN too but it was so crowded I didn't really enjoy it. I did however get to talk to vyvienne for a bit. See you all tonight</span>

I too was at the TLA show ($10) last time he came around but despite the heavy price tag, I'm looking even more forward to seeing him this time around. I would love to see him bust out a Lonelily, though it will never happen. See yall there tonite! TIM

Woman Like a Man was when everyone realized this was a rock show. I'd say that was the highlight, though I can't say it was his best performance.
Seemed into the songs, but not into the show... hard to explain. He wasn't in a jamming mood tonight, everything was played through but the amie jam seemed pretty quick, Volcano was no jam at all really, Woman didn't reprise like he has several times this tour. And the technical difficulties are just getting out of hand at this point. Every show mics aren't on, monitors are buzzing... |

My highlight was I Remember, it was the standard I Remember but I loove that outro. Also the covers they did, and the last song w/ everyone gathered around the mic was tight too. First row, amazing show, cant say more TIM

Amazing show but I still rank it behind the Fire and the TLA.
Both of them had the 'hanging-out-with-friends-and-jamming' kind've mood. This was more of just a big concert, which was expected cause it's definitely a bigger venue. I never saw The Frames live and I was amazed how good they sounded. Wow, I think they rank as the best opening band I've ever seen (much better than Pedestrian in my book). It was nice to see Lisa at one of these Philly shows finally (XPN wasn't really a Damien concert for me), she was amazing of course. For me I think the highlight was definitely the "Our Last Goodbye" tribute to JB (Hallelujah was awesome, but nobody can touch Jeff's live performance). Damien and Co. along with The Frames on stage at the same time, priceless. I was wondering if any of you have ever seen Damien cover a Mic Christopher song, I would've loved to have heard them bust out What a Curious Notion or Skylarkin last night?...it would've just seemed fitting to go along with the 2 JB songs. -Greg PS: For you folks that went to the Fire, did at some point during the night you just look around in awe at how much Damien has grown in popularity? I mean the amount of people at the Fire probably couldn't have fit my row, and now he's selling out pretty damn big venues. Congrats Damien and Co.

Go over to the Gigs Forum for a set list. Or go to the damienrice.com forum (I know it's evil) http://www.damienrice.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=3257 I think Damien had an excellent time and was very into it. I liked the Amie jam...it wasn't too long and it was unreal. My jaw dropped...whatever he did made the floor shake and made me feel like I was being beamed up into a UFO. He called it the spaceship when he talked about it after the show. After the show Damien was beaming and said that he loved the theater and he called it an amazing show. Edited by: GlttrGrrl |

omg, I will tell you about tonight on like Sunday or some time when I have time. All I can say is it was fan-friggin-tastic. Glen invited us down to hang out with the band at this pub on the lower east side...I need sleep. I'll tell you more later.
