Piknik i parken (Oslo) - June 24-26
Today it was announced that Damien has been booked to play at the Norwegian festival called Piknik i parken (PiP in short) ("picnic in the park") in June.
The festival starts June 24 and the last day is June 26 (Source: http://pipfest.no/posts/show/569df8583cbdca043b0f6892). This is a festival that is arranged in the Oslo park Frognerparken. The specific date for Damien's concert hasn't been announced yet, but on the festival's Facebook page I've seen that several people have asked the festival team to state the specific date. Tickets can be found here: http://www.billettservice.no/artist/...lletter/944604 and the festival's Facebook page is here: https://www.facebook.com/pipfest. |

Thanks for sharing!
Looks nice. Kings of convenience are playing there as well. Is it a big festival? I can't make sense of the website as my knowledge of Norwegian is rather limited |

Hi carrroline!
I tried to google a bit for counts of audience members/concert goers on previous concerts at Piknik i parken. It seems like everything from a couple of hundred people to 1500 people is common. There is another festival in Oslo, Øyafestivalen, which is bigger, and often have 5000-10 000 people in the audience on several concerts. So Piknik i parken is smaller than Øyafestivalen. From what I can tell the festival started in 2014, and I do know that the people who work at http://www.trobbelskyter.no are the ones who have Piknik i parken as their project (look at their page under "Prosjekter"). In the past they have booked artists as Susanne Sundfør, James Blake, Ingrid Olava, José González and Michael Kiwanuka. In the past they have also booked Norwegian artists who release their music on smaller labels, like Morten Myklebust and Unnveig Aas. I hope this helps Last edited by malakitt; 01-20-2016 at 07:48 AM. |

Looks very small-ish to me. Nice. If only the date was known. More info on that?

will probably go to this one as it's very easy and cheap for me to go to Oslo, plus I have not been in Oslo for a while...

Lys, the Facebook post of the festival's announcement is here: https://www.facebook.com/pipfest/posts/1110752205615681. Several people have asked which day/date Damien plays, but they haven't received replies yet.

borneoman: There's a overview of currencies here: http://www.norges-bank.no/Statistikk/Valutakurser/ (the site is Norwegian, it shows the Norwegian currency for different currencies, such as Euros). As for Euros, 1 Euro is as much as between 9,5 - 9,7 NOK these days. So that would be approximately 75 Euros, yes. The ticket price for Friday is approximately 70 Euros (685 NOK). The highest ticket price is at 735 NOK, which is approximately 75 Euros. I hope this isn't too confusing.

I think more artists are playing the same day, yes. That is the way it has been done in the past. The artists who have been booked so far, are: Matt Corby, Monica Heldal, Jamie Woon, Universet, Thea Hjelmeland, Weaves, Kings of Convenience, and Iris Gold. It seems the schedule of dates and times for each artist will be released the coming week (that's what the festival team has said on social media) - but Damien's date is confirmed by his team on his website.

The festival's website pipfest.no has the date of Damien's concert as Sunday 26th of June (http://pipfest.no/artists/show/569defe73cbdca043b0f6891). Also their schedule shows that the Swedish artist Daniel Norgren and the Canadian band Destroyer will play on the same day (Source: http://pipfest.no/artists/program/sondag).
