An excerpt from the New York Times' review of B-sides:

"He still owes his fans a recording of what happens onstage, when his dynamics and distortion pedal transform songs into volatile epics of introspection."

Can I just say.............. YES, DAMIEN, YOU DO!!
Can we please have it now??

you can never capture the intensity, passion, or emotion of any artist on a cd, you always need to see them live to experience that feeling.

Boo to the word artist, he's a musician. Sorry, I'm just being a pedantic dick, it's a little pet hate of mine .

A live DVD + CD would be perfect.

No, it wouldn't let you capture the full intensity of the actual gig, but at least it would let you relive it to some extent. And I'm sure, as Damien Rice fans, it would make us all extremely happy.

i have been thinking recently that Damo understates his music ( On "O" that is). For example the album version of delicate is quite subdued to other live versions.....or volcano as such...Therefore when he is playing live he really lets his emotians go giving a wild emotian filled performance which is really cool.

Understating music is a very hard thing to do....so i think!

Yes... The thing is, while Damien "understates", as you say it, his music in O, he also maintains the same amount/quality of emotions in the album as those in his live shows.

although a live release would be great, there are some really good quality audience recordings out there. Everything I've heard taped by pnobles is excellent, others too, but pnobles just sticks out in my mind. Best of all, they're free.

I'm really yearning for a live dvd though!!!

And what about Live at Union Chapel. I had the privilege of being at that gig. Spectacular....but very cold!

Yes, like I said its a pet hate of mine, my dislike for it stems from he phrase "recording artist" and because people like Mariah Carey call themselves that while most proper musicians call themselves musicians.
