In the tabs section under version 1 of this song, the tabber (Leo barker) states that Damo wasn't actually strumming during the Jules Holland video (in the videos section). He says that Damo was playing to a cd. It looks like he is playing to me so I'm just wondering if anyone else heard that Damo doesn't actually play live on these t.v. appearances?! Maybe that's why he sounds so good!Edited by: jp3892

yeah i have heard this rumour once before and that is very hard to believe!
If he ever uses a backing track will be during gigs on CHeer's Darlin, (He also does play it live lots of times) the point of this though is so he can do his little getting drunk act and not have to play

Yea but it's just a sample during Cheers Darlin'. If Damien was told to mime I'd say he'd run out the door!

It's not about miming, it's about the guitar

maybe the people at jules holland played back the tape and weren't happy with their attempt on the sound and overdubbed it . or perhaps we are defending him cause we are blinded by our apreciation of his music. hard to say.

Hi all, I just tapped my name into google and you lovely guys and girls
were talking about my opinion on the Jools Holland show (I'm the guy who tabbed his song). It's not that I'm saying he's not strumming just that the track that is played on the show isn't the same strumming that he is doing. Whether they dubbed it on after or simply played a tape while he sang I don't know at the moment (I don't have the tape to hand and haven't watched it in ages) but the difference is clearly there. Have another look. So did anyone actually try the tab or have I just kicked up some controversy? |
