Exclamation Eskimo Compilation. Where to put your song

You have until the end of the month to record and upload. to upload:

go to http://briefcase.yahoo.com
and use the username : (pm for password)

eskimocompilation@yahoo.com

------------------------------

* I would prefer WMA format. That is what youre aiming to. If the recording is already in mp3 and you cant convert thats fine go ahead with mp3.

* For the password PM me! You must be playing on the record to get the password. If you havent mentioned your interest do so now.

* if this gets full up ill use more.

* Dont rush if you havent recorded. You have until the end of the month.
No need to submit your own artwork. It will be decided at a later date.

* If your song needs tweaking (rough recording?), dont worry we'll try and change it to suit you

Bon chance!

what about copyright issues?

In Ireland you just have to have proof of recording it seems according to this:

"Basically the act of creating a work also creates the copyright, which then subsists in the physical expression of the work"
"It is most important that the originator of a work can show subsequently when the work and the consequential copyright were created as it may be necessary to commence or defend infringement proceedings, at some later stage"

What about the UK? Or would this compilation be under Irish legislation?

Change:

Send the file as mp3 or if you want it to return completely lossless have it in WAV. (even though its huge).

You can't have it in .wav, yahoo briefcase only allows the upload of five megabyte files and a total of fifty megabytes overall. Even if you split an uncompressed recording in ten parts fifty megabytes of .wav is only five minutes long.

So... .mp3 is the definitive answer? What about the copywright laws?

It depends on where you're from, you will have rights under UK law, but you'll also be uploading your recording to Yahoo's servers (if you so choose), which means your recording will physically be in whichever country Yahoo's servers are in. Depending on the country they could technically have rights to it, although they'd never exercise those rights. It's probably worth reading the Yahoo briefcase disclaimer just in case, because a disclaimer is essentially you agreeing to their interpretation of your rights and throwing away your actual rights.

What kinds of songs are you looking for? Originals by Eskimos, or Damien covers? Or something else?

Only originals by eskimos.
Instrumentals and everything are welcome.
