Default NY Hiro show

would anyone like to get a group together and meet up b4 the show and get a couple of drinks? im a 30 min train ride away from where i live so i will probably have a few b4 i get there. we can take some group pics and post them up here.
i also have a little digital recorder, so if i can sneak it in and record the show, maybe we can post it here too!

I live right outside NYC and right now I'm most concerned about going to the show. I'm under 21, so hopefully it won't be 21+. I have both school and work the next day, so I'm also hoping it starts around 8ish. The only thing to worry about after that is whether I'm going to get tickets.

Default tickets

yeah...that's what i fear most. this is a tiny venue and i'm sure all will be looking for tickets. Especially since it's now hip for celebrities and their crews to dig Damien, i'm sure they'll gobble up most of the seats. bah! hehe

cross those fingers.

hope to see you there

I just called the Hiro and the person on the phone said he is playing there, but didn't have any specifics (such as 21+ or all ages). He told me to check ticketweb. I just checked, but nothing has been posted yet. Hopefully soon. Hopefully the admins will post the ticketweb link on the news page.

It depends on the venue, most venues don't hold off too many tickets to be given away as guestlist type deals, it's usually still first come first served. After all they do still have to make money. Not everyone can get the five-star treatment.

just wonderin, cus for glen hansard, which was a different 21+ venue, they said you could go if you could get on the guestlist and go with someone older. i'm sure its much harder to get on damien's guest list than glen's tho.

I'm performing in a play that night at 13th St. which is only a few blocks away and we end about 8:30 so I'm really hoping Damo doesn't play til 9! It'd be an appropriate time, anyhow, no?

Five, the only way I know around that hypothetically speaking, is if one has a sibling that's over 21. And is willing to loan his or her id.

Wow for the first time I might actually be on the optimism side of things. I already have a plane ticket to NY. Not totally crazy--I had flight credit on Southwest Airlines and they are very lenient and I have family on Long Island. I'm in Miami now though, but on Nov 16 I'll be in NY. Hopefully with a bunch of eskimos watching Damien. No, no, I mean, DEFINITELY with a bunch of eskimos watching Damien. For the first time in my life I am telling myself to think positive (and I am the most pessimistic person I know).

Cheers all. And good luck to us all with these shows.

Thumbs down

I'd love to be as optimistic as you guys, but, i've seen this too many times in NYC. Popular performer plays smaller trendy venue and the majority of fans end up **** out luck (and tix).

I'll be optimistic when tixweb reads "thank you for your order."

its a couple weeks away and no info yet...so very laaaaame.

I'd wager that there will also be a theatre show in NYC in Dec.... the Beacon is available the 10th - 15th, and with a tentative date set for the Tower in Philly on the 15th, there's a good chance they'll be at the Beacon the previous evening....

Same song and dance still re: Hiro. I hate making phone calls, but I've been on their website for like 4 days now.

Per Ticket Web email today:
In reference to Damien Rice at the Hiro Ballroom on November 16, 2006, unfortunately, the onsale date is still to-be-announced. We advise that you keep checking back on our website or you can call us (1-866-777-8932) for further information.

It'll probably be the 10th because that day I'll be retrurning from holiday in, of all places, Ireland. Actually, I fly back on the 10th so if there's a show with a somewhat late start time I'll just accidentally miss my connecting flight back to Miami. I love NY and Damo and I hate Miami, so maybe that would actually work out!

Oh dear, I think all the Hiro tension is driving me insane.

The following night, Robert Randolph and the Family Band is playing at Roseland. I think there are still some tickets left. If you get the opportunity, you should check them out.

I was originally going to NYC for the RRFB show and then my girlfriend told me that Damien Rice was going to be playing the night before and we modified our plans so we could make this show.

I stay with family in Farmingville, which means the last stop on the Ronkonkoma line. Hopefully my cousin will drive me into the city though, and my other cousin lives in the city, so we'll see. Now all I need is a show ticket!

I picked up a pair as well, it was actually pretty easy to get a pair, I was a bit suprised. I was glad to see it is a 21 and up event.....

Please note: persons under the age of 21 will not be admitted.
