So the Nov 6 release date is for the UK only??
I notice it's a Mon, which is the day when new CDs are released in the UK, as opposed to the US, where Cds are relesed on Tuesday

As if he said "yeah, you'll notice that the word Cannonball has two double letters in it". And ironically, you overinterpreted his comment too.

Please don't get angry bout my comment, it's just a different point of view.

I mean, I've read on this forum loads of interpretations of some songs that went wayyy to deep (I think). Damien said it many times, he writes a song on what his feelings are at this very moment. I don't think he thinks of the second meaning of the cousin of this word in latin. I actually think that the Blower's Daughter was about the Blower's daughter and the fact that he realised he was not the hero in her skies, and not about some weird 3 pages explanations I've read previously. Remember 'O', he said that it came out when he was on a bike, and then he thought of mistakes that we do and redo again as if we're going in circles. Still, many people thought that there was some kind of hidden message behind 'O'.

Then again, I might be wrong, just as I think you are
See ya

Ok... but isn't that one of the most beautiful things when you listen to a song? I mean the more a song can inspire interpretations and cause different feelings into listeners' mind and heart, the more it has reached its point.
That's my opininon, of course, and i'd be happy if, writing a song, I'd find out talking to others that somone can find into it something I never even thought about when i was composing.
That must have something to do with my taste for unexplicit lyrics, where there's a plain explaination but every single listener can find his one following the feeling that lines create into his ear and into his heart.
Damien's lyrics are a bit like this, I think, so it's a good thing and it's even fun to me reading such different interpretations.
It's a way for looking things from a different point of view..
That's all, and that's the way I see it, no argue and everything of course

I bet it IS a reference to 9 songs... what with the first album 'not' referring to The Story of O... I wonder what the NEXT album will refer to...

Generally speaking 9 is seen as the number of completeness. It marks the end of the human gestation period and the end of a series of numbers (1-10), as well as a complete circle (360 degrees = 3 + 6 + 0 = 9). Christ completed his life and died at the ninth hour. Nine categories of people are called 'blessed' in the Sermon on the Mount. Because 9 is a number of initiation it is seen as being liable to injury (since initiations commonly involve ordeals and mutilations. 9 is a complete number: if multiplied by any other number it always reproduces itself (3 x 9 = 27 = 2 + 7 = 9). Completeness is symbolized by 9 as well as by 3 and 7 (but for different reasons).
Character traits: A true humanitarian, a strong desire to serve your fellow man. A fighter for social causes for the poor and unfortunate. High mental and spiritual achievement capable of inspired action and of inspiring others. Many interest and sympathies. Generous and compassionate and may be imposed on. Passionate and romantic. High minded and idealistic, and able to fall in and out of love with ease and frequency. A lover of beauty in all things. May have a difficult early life, but will succeed through determination and resourcefulness. Impressionable, intuitive and quite independent.
Negative tendencies: Egotistical and conceited in dealing with individuals. Easily hurt, and not much emotional stability, may be quick-tempered.

i think so too.. i'm kind of hoping for at least one hidden track though, i like those little surprises when you're least expecting it (but there you go, i've come to expect it now)

anyway i don't know why people would be bothered if it only had 9 songs on it, "O" only had 10 (listed) 9 is a perfect number of tracks i think, especially if it has a theme..

i always use that number when i'm making a mix tape

This news absolutely made my weekend. I've itching my insides for the time Damien came around to release something new. I couldn't imagine a better fall/winter album than a Damien Rice spinning driving, cutting through the fall breeze. Looks to be a wonderful season.

Plus, many great works of music have "only" 9 songs on it:

Tim Buckley's Starsailor
Pink Floyd's The Dark Side Of The Moon
Bob Dylan's Highway 61 Revisited
Animal Collective's Feels
Van Morrison's Astral Weeks (almost, has 8 tracks)
