I will, although he might find it a tad weird for a random 20 year old male blowing him a kiss but I'll do it just for you!!!

I AM!!!!!! I am soo excited. There are about eight people whom I know for sure are going five out of the eight are definilty there for Damien Rice :-D, the others are going to be there for Sufjan Stevens and then some are there for both. Either way we are all extremely ecstatic and man oh man it's only eight days away. :-D whoot!

Well, I swung by Carnegie Hall around 8:30, without a ticket. A woman was leaving and I asked for her ticket stub. I got in, and her seat was excellent. 85 dollars, she paid, then left halfway through.
Damien only played two songs -- The Blowers Daughter (Part 2) and Cold Water. I asked like a hundred people if I had missed anything else he had done. Nope. Two songs. Plus, he clapped a tamborine and sang with like 50 people at the end. The sound was pretty crappy. I think he did a pretty good job, had ok intensity, but the sound was just weak. The band was there, but Tomo only played a djembe, not a full drum set. I saw him at both Beacon Theater shows last Spring, and he blew my mind. This was far less satisfying, and not just because it was only two songs. He had on that cool hippie shirt he wears a lot, and his hair was the longest I've ever seen it. Lisa seemed very different -- shy or awkward or something. But her voice sounded great. Tomo was clean shaven, for all your Tomo fans. He looked so clean-cut. Hate to say it, but you all didn't miss anything....unfortunately. - Matt Last edited by matthew1234; 03-02-2006 at 03:34 AM. |

Maybe it was different based on seats, but I was upstairs and thought he sounded great. His voice on BD2 filled the room... just beautiful. I was a bit dissappointed with Cold Water - just didn't hit right, and the djembe was distracting (a snare drum might have been preferable).
I hate the damn hippie shirt. All in all, the whole show was great, and Damien's stuff was quite nice. Worth the money, especially for a decent cause. |
