Fonzie a fan of 'one of the great poets of the 21st Century'
Henry Winkler, aka the Fonz, was on an Irish chat show over the weekend... he told a story about how he met Paddy Moloney (of the Chiftans) in a local shop in Dublin... but that he was hoping to see Damien...
Henry - "I was looking for, eh, Damien Rice. I kept... I figured if I can meet the Chief of the Chieftans, walking in the streets, I can meet one of the great poets of the 21st Century" Ryan - "Damien Rice" Henry - "I saw nothing, I didn't meet him." Ryan - "We'll arrange something for you." Henry - "And I love the Waterboys, you know my iPod is FILLED with Irish music." Ryan - "Really?" Henry - "Yeah, I am touched, I have dreamt of being here in Ireland, and I'm here now" You can watch the clip online (certainly if you're in Ireland... maybe not from aboad I don't know) here http://www.rte.ie/player/#v=1048559 The clip is 9min 30sec in.

having the fonz's adoration must be the highest acclaim a person can have.. i actually mean that...

It won't let us watch it.
But... I love the title of this thread. If eskimofriends had a "like" button (as Facebook does), then I would "like"this thread. |

Winkler seems like a genuinely nice man whenever I see him interviewed.
