I just don't change what I'm listening to that often. I listened to the new Jimi Hendrix Record yesterday, but I'm always getting back to my small collection of favorites.

Yes, Hendrix. 'Valleys of Neptune' was just released. Guess someone found something in his basement or so...

Joanna Newsom - Autumn

Not sure what to think of the new opus magnum album, there are parts that are quite nice, but I get more goose-bumps from the Owen Pallet (formerly known as Final Fantasy) record "Heartland" (does anyone know this record yet? It's beautiful.).

^ Heartland was the one album I was looking forward to this year. There are three or four truly beautiful pieces on there, but I'm not overly infatuated with it. The rest of it sounds like a score for a video game (and right when he gave up his video game moniker too, heh). Not necessarily a bad thing, but it doesn't really gel with the rest of the album, so the whole thing sounds a tad too theatrical. I miss the old Owen stuff... that shizz was veering towards classical music!

Marti, I love it! It feels so much sadder than the last album though. Currently smitten with What He Wrote:

^That's beyond beautiful, possible the best cover ever by anyone (in my opinion)!!! I've been fortunate enough to hear Tori doing it live 4/5 times and I get goosebumps everytime!!!!

Love this little song Birds by Kate Nash, bizarre lyrics but it works for me. You gotta love the line about birds ****ting on your head:

Survivor - Feels like love

I'm surprised how catchy they are, they're not cheesy at all. I never listened to a proper album until recently (the Eye of the tiger from 1982) and now I'm having a bit of a Surfever. Just ordered "Vital signs" and the debut record (with the smiling Kim Basinger on the cover).

Dave Bickler or Jimi Jamison...can't decide who's the better singer though. Bickler seems a tad more emotional.
