anyone ever listen to a band called Sea Ray? I was listening to the title-track of their Revelry EP tonight and they struck me as a band that other Damien Rice/Jeff Buckley fans would like, good vocals and nice cello arrangements aswell. and they release their own records independently. you can read a full review of that EP here and a biography here..

"Their new EP, Revelry, is simply refreshing to listen to. The title track opener begins with a mystical and melodic double guitar track, nicely complimented by a staccato cello line. Filled with swooshing cello lines, reverb-filled guitars, an explosive organ part, and freely sung vocals Revelry is a masterfully crafted and infectious pop song that will live in your head for weeks. As the EP forges forward, the listener is truly exposed to Sea Ray’s unique song-writing style. The band’s innovative instrumentation consisting of 2 guitars, bass, drums, cello, and keyboards paint a perfect backdrop for front man Jordan Warner’s care-free melodies. Just under 25 minutes, and filled with everything from explosive cello-driven builds to lyrically contemplative and sentimental mellow tunes, Sea Ray’s Revelry is an exciting peek into their music, and like any good EP it leaves you eager for more."
