I've got what could be considered a stupid question: how famous is Damien in Europe? I don't think too many people know who he is over here in the states. I personally don't know of anyone who's ever heard of him. But when I look at how many people are on this website, I think that he must be pretty famous? |

I saw an advert on channel 4 for 'O' quite recently. (at least I think it was channel 4, it was advertising some special deal for 'O' and 'B' sides together, If I remember rightly).

i hate that mix!!!grr as much as i love my drums, its not meant to have em in it...especially not ones like that...they're poppy beats. I listened to damien talk about the remix (on this wonderful site) and he said that he didnt approve of it either..no blaming the mighty damo!!

Well seeing as 'O' is in the top 10 album charts in Ireland and the UK AGAIN... he must be pretty well known here...
I was telling friends to see him years ago... that he would be huge... they didn't bother... now can't get tickets

Damien's still virtually unknown in the US, even with the Closer soundtrack and TV appearances. Even my friends who like indie/quasi-obscure music hadn't heard of him till I came along... I've noticed that his fan base in Ireland seems to be a lot younger than in the US... is he seen as poppy there? I've always wondered that because it seems so, and here he'd be lucky to get radio play on even the pseudo-intellectual/high-brow public radio stations that mostly play classical music and NPR news shows. But yet his US shows allsold out so... hmm... |

He isn't famous in the states at all really. He has only sold 167,000 records here so far. Thanks to Hydeburns, Damien is my favorite singer, I have to listen to him everyday!!!

I'm noticing that too. I'm feeling pretty old on this website. Seems that most of the fans were born in the (yikes!) 80s... |
