I'm surprised to find that there isn't a post about the show last night. Someone tell us how it was! It was solo...what did he play? Was the audience respectful? I'm dying to know.

the show was great, i missed the other musicians, everyone seems to have so much fun together. i am still happy to have had a chance to break from studies and listen to some wonderful music. childish isalways a crowd pleaser-or maybe that is just me.the crowd was huge, compared to last show at the fox. the frames had great communication with the audience and seemed fresh and very comfortable with the crowd. it was well worth the wait after being so sad about denver a couple of months ago.

Just Damien solo. He said in the KBCO interview yesterday that he and the band were having a little break from each other between the European tour and the rest of the American tour. So solo shows for Iceland and Boulder. He said it was "like a little holiday."

Okay, here are some more details. It's second-hand info which I got from my brother James so I apologise for any mistakes. My other brother Rob who had never even heard of The Frames before said the whole gig was worth it just for them, even before seeing Damien. And he hadn't heard much of Damien either and thought he was great too. So I guess they've both got a new fan there then. Apparently Glen had been having some trouble with his knee for a while, and during the gig he really hurt it, hopped around for a bit, and then eventually continued the rest of the gig sitting in a chair. James didn't really know the names of the songs but recognised a lot of stuff from Setlist. Damien played a lot off the album, and also Childish, Woman Like A Man, and The Professor. I'm sure there was lots more, but again James didn't know all the names. At one stage he played a slow song (Blowers Daughter 2 maybe?) which led into a cover of Creep. He was pretty talkative apparently as well, saying how much he loves Boulder and telling the story behind Cheers Darlin. Also talking about how much he loves The Frames and how he would have been opening for them in the past instead of the other way round. During one of the encores he said it was a shame to have all that equipment on stage and not use it, so he had The Frames come back out on stage and they did some songs together. He did Cheers Darlin with the bottle of wine, finishing it by the end of the song. He asked if anyone had a cigarette for him and got weird looks, etc., from the audience. He asked "why, doesn't anybody smoke here?" and then people explained that Boulder has a ban on smoking in public buildings. He then said he might have to reconsider his opinion of Boulder being so great after all. And then explained that Ireland is implementing the same ban. That's about all I've got... Again, sorry if there are any mistakes... |

Apparently the encore when the Frames came on and played with him was: Red Chord, Blower's Daughter > Creep.
Please somebody be taping these for the sake of the interesting collaborations. |

Hmm, I know some taper was there; unfortunately, hewas told that Damien doesn't allow taping and therefore couldn't bring his gear inside - such a shame too...

That's a pity, and probably down to half-assed security because Damien has actually released a taping policy allowing it (but their are some rediculour restrictions in it).
