call me stupid, but i cant seem to figure it out...i know it's written to be like a childs view, but some of the imagery is just confusing, and i cant figure out what it could be.... i think i know one: How come that kids not like me, what colour me does he see? i think its something to do with him seeing a child of another colour skin and not understanding or something... but im not too sure, so if any of you have interpretations or ideas of your own, i'd love to hear them.

I've always assumed that's what it was philb
I've always thought of it as a commentary on how open and welcoming kids are and how we can all learn from them. "I think he colours my room when he comes" |

yeah i think it's about kids and how they don't see why people are
treated differently because of race/colour of skin etc. eg "but how comes we both go to schools on different sides of the street?"</font>

"how comes your sister's in drag?and where are the clothes that she had? well I've seen her of late, i think she put on some weight like a man" --- not understanding the "adult" world and why people do odd things (such as dress in drag, or look "different"), and in contrast, when you are grown-up, for some reason theses thingsmake sense then... i dunno if that makes sense to anyone, it did to me! I get the impression that the drag bit is about the boys sister growing up and beginning to wear make up and short dresses etc.
