then again 'then go' is playing now and im thinkin he'll never compare to damien(heart a flutter) oh and thanks to liam hawke of red light records galway for all the damo stuff and for anticipating my 'but i really do LOVE him' speech.

Ha! I got all excited when I saw this topic....

I own 4 Nick albums.....Let Love In, The Boatman's Call, No More Shall We Part, and his latest, Nocturama. I was first a new fan of his music back in the day when his album "From Her to Eternity" was released nearly 20 years ago.

"As I Sat Sadly By Her Side" is indeed an excellent song....touching, sad and very human. My personal favorites are "The Ship Song", "Henry Lee" (w/PJ Harvey), "Lime-Tree Arbor", "Hallelujah", "the Gates to the Garden", "He Wants You" and "Bring it On." I think Nick is interesting and wonderful, but wouldn't compare his talent to Damien's or anyone else for that matter. They are both excellent in their own ways....and both very unique.

No More Shall We Part is a great album. It is definitely one to listen to when you are feelin blue or down. I really enjoy Nick Cave, and his performance on Letterman this summer was amazing.

I like him but I never bought any of his stuff until today. I saw Nocturama in virgin as part of a 2 for €35 thing and I was already getitng the ravonettes as one half of that deal so...

It was great. He covered a Nick Cave song as well at some stage didn't he? I read somewhere Cave sayig something I like "Even in my darkest moments I can stand up and say f**k you Johnny Cash did one of my songs"
