found a review for the cave gig:

Lisa Hannigan kicked things off musically with a solo set of new material. A couple of songs in particular stood out, one which talks of the months of “May and June” and another which uses places on a US tour as reference points for a larger elegantly told theme. One song could probably do with a rewrite, being that the chorus consists of the words – “safe travels / don’t die / don’t die” but it’s a trivial matter. Hannigan’s voice has only improved and in the dynamics of the cave, her range reverberated around a space which offers plenty of visual candy.

The night came to a wonderful conclusion with McMorrow, Hannigan and O’Raghallaigh covering ‘Blue Moon’ in a perfect amalgamation of all the talent that had gone before.

So a friend of mine has set-up and is trying to build a website/blog for Irish people now living in London, and to help her out I've written a review of the Bush Hall gig last week which you can read here: <http://www.glaslondon.com/?p=578#more-578>

bugger - which you COULD click on, if I could figure out how to do it properly? (help!)

hey, how cool! thanks for sharing.

regarding links... well, i´ll try my best to explain it (i´m not anglophone). first, you have to select the word or phrase that you would like to link. then, you have to click on the "world" icon (i assume it´s a world, hehe), then you need to copy the url and voilà. does it sound stupid? cause it does a little to me, he.

i like this part the most (from http://www.glaslondon.com/?p=578#more-578 ):

Throughout the gig it was Hannigan’s humour that shone through and it appears she is finally able to relax on stage and enjoy the experience.

Hey! Nice one, miss Hannigan! First in a church, now in a cave...Slowly following the steps of ... you know who...

I believe it was very special the cave-gig. But wonder what's the song about May and June? Cannot connect the words with a song, right now...

And also really excited about the collaboration with Lamontagne on O Sleep!!! Yuuhuuu!

Nighty night!

Going to my first Lisa concert tomorrow in Vancouver. I'm so excited!!! I've remember reading somewhere that she doesn't like people using cameras to record songs or something like that? Is that true ?

^ I think she mentioned disliking people taping and sharing new songs before they were recorded/released, but I don't think her management's all that strict about other material.

Could be wrong, though...

Awesome concert last night in Vancouver. I took some videos that I'll post once they're done being uploaded. I also manage to actually meet her after the concert as well! Got a picture with her and she signed my Passenger CD! Such a great person!

Here are the videos:

Omg another person from Vancouver was at that same show? What?! I was literally like, 5 feet to the left of you the entire show! That's hilarious. haha. Man what a woman! She is absolutely fantastic. So adorable. An absolute pleasure to be in attendance to that show especially at that venue. So small and cozy. Loved it!

If you told me you were the drunk Irish guy I met I'd have to laugh my ass off... haha

I forgot to bring my camera with me to the Toronto show, but here are some iPhone pics!

She was pretty amazing. More comfortable than I've ever seen her on stage! Took a little while for her to start bantering with the audience, but she was heckled in very adorable ways and I think we broke her down (e.g. someone threw Tayto packets onto the stage for her). The show really showed her range - we got a solo acoustic version of an old Irish ballad that really showcased her voice (I taped it on my phone, but haven't figured out how to put it up anywhere yet. I think I have Little Bird, too) and then she rocked out to a few songs (loved seeing her play an electric Fender). I wish the show would have lasted about 5 hours longer than it did, of course, but the set list was a good one!

She said she bought a new guitar while she was in Toronto (she didn't play it at our show), and spent the night before drinking in my favourite bar (Dakota Tavern) but alas, I wasn't in the city! Now I know where to go the night before her next gig here

Setlist was:
Passenger
Pistachio
A Sail
Ocean and a Rock
Venn Diagram
Flowers
O Sleep (ft. John Smith)
Little Bird
Lille
Paper House
Home
I Don't Know
What'll I Do
Safe Travels Don't Die

---
My Lagan Love (Irish ballad, solo acoustic)
Knots
"Jebus" (tee hee)

Gavin Glass opened with a pretty good sized set and charmed the pants off of pretty much every woman in the audience! He's actually pretty hilarious.

(couldn't help but notice her claddagh ring, turned the I'm-in-love way round)

I was at the Hiro Ballroom show in NYC and Glen Hansard showed up! Quite a treat, he sang a song and hung around after to watch the show (and chat a while!).
Another nice treat was Levon Henry playing sax.

He came toward the end of the night, before the encore. I wouldn't say they did the song together although she kind of sang along at one point. He played what he called "a New York song" - I didn't recognize it.

It was a cover of Chelsea Hotel by Leonard Cohen.

Okay...I am finally getting around to posting! We saw Lisa at Double Door in Chicago on October 10 - what an amazing, amazing show. This was my first time seeing her live (by herself or otherwise) and we were absolutely blown away! Admittedly we went into the show feeling a little "Well, we can't see Damien, so it'll be nice to see Lisa" and walked away feeling more along the lines of "This woman is now our favorite lady on the planet." - she was amazingly talented and bantered quite a bit with the audience and it was just a great night.

I got two videos - One of most of Paper House and another of Little Bird, which I haven't uploaded yet, but will be sure to post once I do.

Plus a few photos:

...I think I forgot to mention that we LOVED John Smith. He was completely out of CDs by the time they reached Chicago so we didn't get one - a shame! We would have gladly paid to see just him solo!

A lisa pic - it's huge!

We got her to sign a poster after the show, she was so friendly! I've met a few "celebrities" and she's by far the nicest I've gotten to chat with. It's really unfortunate that I had a massive headache and we were in a hurry to get out, because I would have liked to hang around a little longer and offer to buy her a pint!

As for the setlist:

Paper House
Pistachio
A Sail
Ocean and a Rock
Venn Diagram
Flowers
Little Bird
O Sleep
I Don't Know
Passenger
What'll I Do
Safe Travels, Don't Die
Lille
- Encore Break! -
Home
Knots
Personal Jesus

I wish I could pick a favorite number, but unfortunately I couldn't if I tried. They were all wonderful, even the songs that I didn't care for so much on the album. She's clearly someone who shines live

Hope she comes around to the city again so we can see her a second time! (Or third, if you don't count the livestream!)
