Damien calls it "Never", its old name, but it's on the Bell X1 album as "Eve the apple of my eye". Their version is really good, and I'd definitely recommend the album "Music in Mouth". I don't know where you could find Damien's version, probably somewhere on the FTP server. Dan |

'Tis indeed a great track...
He sings it as the intro to Cold Water nowadays.... If you download the Paradiso Amsterdam gig (25/2/2004), this gig has it! |

Sarcasm.. nice.. Anywayz wat I meant by my arse is that I was talkin to a guy in Drogheda last weekend and he said that he does work for Lrd Mount-Charles and dat there's no way Madonna iz playin! Think about it.. if she was booked to play would they not have announced it proper bynow and released the tickets? Or he could be talkin sh*te... Thanx for all the help wit Eve btw... Maybe we should organise sum sort of campaign to get Damo playin at Slane!! It's not beyond d realms of possibility u know.. PJ Harvey playede there last year.. Damo @Slane is just the sort of thing Ireland needs to realise how good this man is!!

It dates back to the Juniper days (how often have I said that about Damien's songs?) Bell X1 retitled it added a bit at the end and are releasing it as their next single. Wouldn't be surprised if it does a snow patrol.
Damien has taken to playing it of late.

Madonna has been confirmed for Slane for a few weeks now so the Radiohead/Muse rumours were scuppered some time ago. Bellefire are confirmed as one of the support acts so it's pretty much gonna be a pop-orientated lineup if that wasn't predicatable already.

In Juniper, Never was always a "Paul" song whereas Eskimo and Spaceship (which became Amie) were "Damien" songs. It's going to be the next Bell X1 single which is VERY exciting. Coming out at the end of May. I hear they're making the video for it this week in Cork or something. With the right support it has Snow Patrol written all over it, so Bellie and Damien fans, particularly in the UK should really make a lot of noise for it. |

Sorry... I meant that I always understood it was a song Paul had actually written the words of.... Of course Damien would have sung it, except for maybe towards the end of Juniper.... It was like you always knew that the words of"Spaceship" and "Eskimo" and a few others were clearly written by Damien and would be unlikely to have been done by the others in their new capacity. When I've seen Damien doing "Never" he's been very careful to say this is a Bell X1 song or this inspired Cold Water or whatever.... unlike say Volcano or Tongue where it's each to his own... Good to see.... |

I never saw Juniper live (didn't like what I heard at the time plus I was young) but before Damien left when they did Slowset and Beautiful madness did Paul sing them live? Its his voice on the collected rarites bootleg.
