There's a good clip of Damien and the Bottom Shelft story on either damienrice.net (I think that's the one) or damienrice.co.uk, check the music/mp3 sections. It's a cute story. =D

usually, songs have a basic 3 chord pattern.
i'd imagine it's a G.
just mess around with it.

Yeah i playit with a capo on the 5th and use C, Fmaj7 (i think not too good with chord names) and G with a few hammer on's its sounds alright..the story goes he was busking in scotland and getting soaked so hesat under a shop window turned off the mic and amp and started messing around on the guitar and ended up writing the song and that people started throwing pound coins at him when he was writing it which he found odd cause he never got that much in scotland before

well, here's my attempt at it!

capo 5

uses 3 chords, with a lot of hammering on/pulling off

GC D*

---3-- ---3 if you want this is the C chord

---0-----1-- moved up 2 frets

---0-- ---0--

---0-- --0/2--

--0/2-- ---3--

---3-- ---x--

intro and first part

G (hammer on A string) C (hammer on D string)

other part (and i'm always hanging on.....)

D* C D* G D* C G

the "really really want it all" part is

G C D* repeated.

thats about it i reckon!

I don't think it's Lisa but it could be likely that it's the person who recorded it and it could also be likely that the person laughing if not the person who recorded it comes on here!

For the whole chorus I just play the chord of G with some dramatic up and down strokes....is that wrong?
