50 worst artists in music history
Heh: http://www.blender.com/guide/article...d=466&src=gm45
I would put Neil Young on that list. Don't flame me, nothing you will say will make me like his music. |

I second that! Some of his songs are exceptional! (after the goldrush is, for example)...and about that list...the alan parsons project were great in my opinion, and there are other bands there that i like...I hate when people make these stupid lists...they're useless, it's (almost) all a matter of taste

U2 should be #1. Coldplay should be #2.
That is all.

Surely James Blunt should be in any sane persons top ten..!??
Some also 'should be's: Keane, The Feeling, Chesney Hawks, Yaz, Spandau Ballet (no, not even acceptable 'as a joke'), Peter Andre (even more so when caterwauling with that thing of a wife), Westlife, Boyzone, Robbie Williams, Sandi Thom, Dizzy Rascal, UB40. Eugh so much bad music, so little time |

i gave up reading after it had "The Doors" at number 37 (notice theres no 38? idiots)
and it also said this - "Appalling fact Morrison is widely believed to have suffered his fatal heart attack while masturbating in the bathtub." What jerks..

Keep in mind that Blender is targeted toward a younger demographic so seeing The Doors on the list can't be that surprising.

49 TOAD THE WET SPROCKET Very poor name. Even poorer band
“We were together longer than we ever thought we’d be,” said Toad the Wet Sprocket singer Glenn Phillips when the band gave up in 1998. Longer than the rest of us had hoped, too. But the California four-piece defied the odds for 12 years, even piercing the Top 40 with their R.E.M. readymades. Appalling fact Toad decided to have another go this year, playing dates with Counting Crows. Run. Worst CD Pale (Columbia, 1990) 37 THE DOORSHe was the Lizard King. No, really… While in college, many young men still choose to immerse themselves in such ill-advised subjects as Nietzsche, black magic and Native American folklore. Most get over it; Jim Morrison, unfortunately, inflicted his terminally adolescent views on the wider world. The consequences included overblown screeds of nonsense such as “The End” and “The Crystal Ship,” plus, effectively, the invention of goth. Then he got fat and died. Appalling fact Morrison is widely believed to have suffered his fatal heart attack while masturbating in the bathtub. Worst CD The Soft Parade (Elektra, 1969) 34 LIVE These U2 sound-alikes never did find what they were looking for Blessed with the same spiritual longing as U2 — but, sadly, none of the musical cunning — this Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, quartet made a brief but insignificant splash in the early ’90s as purveyors of grandiose, vaguely uplifting alt-rock. Although their hold on the mainstream had evaporated by the end of the decade, their blend of loud guitars and portentous lyrics helped pave the way for crypto-Christian rockers Creed. Nice one, Live. Appalling fact The album title Secret Samadhi derives from a form of Hindu meditation. Worst CD Secret Samadhi (MCA, 1997) 25 JAMIROQUAIThe white, talentless Stevie Wonder Where to start — the ludicrous headgear? The atrocious dancing? No, let us start, and finish, with the fact that Stevie Wonder has more talent in his dark glasses than Jay Kay has in his entire body. Worst CD A Funk Odyssey (Epic, 2001) OK the guys that wrote this have something wrong with them seriously!!!!

OK.... tuppence worth time...
Neil Young - Class act... hard to beat at what he does.... The Doors - Genre & Era defining genius..... Primus - wrote the South Prk theme, and for that alone are great.... Yngwie Malmsteen - merged heavy rock with classical stylee... one of the guitar greats.... Mick Jagger - fronted one of the greatest rock bands ever, who are still as popular today as they we're in there heyday.... And Finally..... Chris de Burgh - the ultimate purveyor of filth should be among the top, if not number 1.....

There are much worse musical crimes than are apparent on that list. Fast Food Rockers anyone? Aqua? Black Lace?
P.S Chris de Burgh is great...A SPACEMAN CAME TRAVELLING.

Worst CD Pale (Columbia, 1990) I have seen Glenn Phillips play solo twice, once was with Sean and Sarah Watkins, and i will say he put on a great show. He plays acoustic now and his lyrics are top notch. I know he doesn't represent the band as a whole, but in thier defense one member is extremely talented. |

It's Blender mag, thus not to be taken too serious. Blender is the music magazine equivalent to FHM magazine.

I have to say I agree with everyone on that list. Except Goo Goo Dolls. They have some pretty amazing songs, I thought. But I do hear that they suck live.
