trying to find tickets that are better than what ticketmaster has to offier... i was a bad boy and i didn't set a countdown for when the tickets went on sale... now it's a few days later and i can't get better than section 5 row R... that simply won't do let me know if any of you know of anyone who has great seats... thanks! i will definitely be there... it's just a matter of in what seat

Default Show's not at the Fleet Center

It's at the Bank of America Pavillion, which is on the Waterfront...

Just didn't want you going to the wrong place on the 21st!!!!!!!

Default Boston 07-21-06

Hi all. I just found this site after going to the Boston Show yesterday. Amazing. Surreal. I only went to see Damien, and then we handed our 4th row center tickets to two obvious Fiona Apple fans in the last few rows in the arena after Damien finished. They were thrilled to say the least.

I was wondering if the Boston set he played was shorter than normal...because of the lightening??
Also, for those who have seen Damien play before.....were you surprised at any songs he played or didnt play?

And lastly (thanks for your patience) I didnt know two songs he played....does anyone know the exact set list from the Boston Show?

Thanks SO much in advance.

hey,
yeah im pretty sure he had to cut his set short by about twenty minutes, he was supposed to have an hour slot i believe..
Well the set list didnt really include any "new" songs, but i think it went a little like this:
Grey Room - Volcano
Cold Water - Hallelujah
Blowers Daughter
Woman Like A Man
Nine Crimes
I Remember

think that's it, tho not altogether sure..

Did you ever do a cover of Nine Crimes live somewhere? A friend sent me the song... by a Corey Byrnes (from, Aug. 2004, I think). There was a Tori Amos + Volcanoes song too. If it's you, then I just have to say -- I absolutely loved your covers.

I've written my review for all kinds of people to read, not just Damien fans, so it would look a bit strange if I'd post it here, I think.

I've put it into a public blog entry instead. Hope you enjoy it!

There's isn't much to add, I think. We left after Damien's set. I didn't look around to meet them. It was obvious that they had to content with a lot of weather related obstacles all day, so I thought it was better to let them have a minute by themselves.

Any question, just ask!

What will stick to memory is definitely the performance of 'Cold Water' ("Lord, can you hear me now") accompanied by lightning in the dark gray skies over Boston harbor, followed by Damien's solo (using the distortion mic) of 'Hallelujah,' to be answered by thunder from above - a perfect union of a fantastic performance with circumstance.

wow... i would have liked to have seen that! sounds like god (or mother nature) made an appearance at that gig!

thanks for posting the review angela it sounds like you had a good time depsite the weather

My friends just dropped off the Boston Globe review for me, so here it is. (It was published only on Tuesday!)

(Hi Julia - didn't realize at first that it was you! Hope you are doing well!)

hey everyone. I'm a huge damien rice fan, i have been for about three years now. when i heard he was going on tour with fiona apple, i was beyond excited, because the only artist who i listen to almost as much as damien was fiona. I got tickets to the Boston show, I was sitting in the second row center, to very left of the center. it was amazing. the song that made me fall in love with damien's music was 'volcano', and when he started to play it, it was so powerful at the end i was almost brought to tears. the speakers were literally on top of me, so the music just reberverated through me... it was amazing. I had never heard '9 crimes' before, and i absolutely fell in love. Lisa was amazing and beautiful. During 9 crimes damien moved to the very left of the stage to play the piano and he was only about ten feet away from me, i was absolutely captivated.

i also went to the show in conneticut at mohegan sun (excellent place, definitely recommend it) and i was excited because since damien had to play a shorter set in boston because of the weather, i got to hear the whole set in conneticut. it was amazing, and there were so many people there for damien. i had such a great time, and soon i know that damien will be headlining his own US tour soon.
