woodstock
Been doing some reading about Woodstock since its the 40th anniversary (a 3 day music festival for you youngins).Seems like Damo has the Woodstock vibe(peace, love, etc.) but probably would'nt have been mainstream enough to play a festival that large.Any thoughts?

He is not necessarily above mainstreaming it.
He's played most of the big ones: Bonaroo, Glastonbury, Austin city Limits, T in the Park (There's others i'm sure)... All of which in my opinion are pretty much mainstream.

I mean no disrespect, but he is nowhere near Hendrix, Joplin, Baez, Shankar or The Who in any regard.
He would have been squashed by such amazing displays of badassery:

I agree he's certainly not in the class of The Who,Joplin,or Hendrix!Funny thing the band tried to talk Jimi out of playing the Star Bangled Banner.I'd say he made the right decision. What a great moment in music history. |
