Dunno the name of the Rufus song, so I googled what I had by way of notes and it was "Vibrate".
When Damien & band got to town this week, they got a call from Herbie Hancock inviting them to join him in the studio to record a song. So after they taped Leno, they went to the studio. 8pm-5am! So that's how that pairing came about last night. Another news tidbit: Damien & band had been spending a great deal of time recording at a house about 1.5 hours outside Dublin, so they weren't used to playing live. They've been in 'record' mode so long. |

I WAS THERE!!!! and I can confirm that oh yes "oh holy f*ck it was
f*ckin' awesome"...and I saw every member of the band before the show, totally blew my chance for autographs and pictures because I didn't want to bother them but I did get to talk to tomo and shane said hello to me twice.....and I was alone on the street with herbie hancock and I was the only one in line there when he first arrived and couldn't get his big ass piano out of his tiny ass sports car...it was awesome I have such a tale to tell and the show was unbelievable. Damien was having such a time jammin' with herbie and lisa sang the hell out of be my husband, oh and the flow into be my husband from I remember and damien was singing into his guitar and he was beating his guitar so hard shane had to hold the neck for him....WOW! O.k. sorry for the lack of complete sentences there but I am still flying from the show. I will write something more comprehensive later when my brain slows down.

Okay, for those of you not willing to read through the tons of posts in the other thread in the Gigs forum, the setlist was: Tongue Volcano Older Chests Woman Like a Man Willy (Lisa solo) Insane Amie Lonely Soldier Baby Sister Cannonball Blower's Daughter Pt. 2 The Professor & la Fille Danse Vyvienne playingVibrate Grey Room Eskimo I Remember -> Be My Husband Don't Explain Encore: Delicate Cold Water -> Hallelujah Blower's Daughter Jam with Herbie Hancock that started with a slow version of Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues, and included parts of Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For and Glorybox But if you want to know more, go over to the other thread! MAYBE I WILL BE ON THE DOCUMENTARY DVD!!! Well I don't know but I
was the only person outside the venue when herbie hancock showed up and everyone came outside to help him take his piano out of his car and Tomo said that this was a moment they should be filming for the documentary jokingly...then the guy with the camera came out and started filming, and when Damien came out he was filming Damien and I was just to Damiens right, we were all kind of in a circle and I just kept creeping back out of the circle because I knew I didn't belong there but they </span>congregated around me! I was just waiting for the show (four hours early) Me...right there in the circle with everyone and seeing Damien and Shane saying "how are ya" to me twice, and talking to Tomo, and seeing them just randomly walking down the street to Starbucks...ME...o.k. still cannot speak in complete sentences and totally repeating myself but by God if the eskimos wont hear my tale who will?! God it pays to be ridiculously early and compulsive about being first ( and only) in line.
