*Try reading the above message all the way through without thinking about it. It has been proven many a time that the human brain does not read each letter in a word where instead it just looks at the word as a whole. The only exception is, you can spell a word any way you wish, just as long as the first and last letters appear in the same place as they do in the original version. Peace. i agree ^, i can skim through an entire paragraph and understand it even if there are only a few correct letters in the word. but when people get used to reading like that it presents problems in reading, like my friend reads like that even now, and he just kinda takes a look at some of the letters and guesses what the word will be, lazy reader i say.
anyway, what were we talking about? oh yeah, DONT GO LISA

Check the gigs section guys... Lisa was not at the Milan show... This person asked Vyv before the show and she said Lisa hadn't really really quit but was not gonna be at the show...

Oh man, not good.
Well, Damo has always said that anyone could come and go as they please... Guess we'll have to wait and see...but I do believe Lisa could do well on her own and fans would still go see Damien. Even though this is all speculation, there is nothing wrong with being curious about it.

You also incorrectly placed the punctuation mark inside of the quotes ("Private Joker?") in your first post.

My, my, my...leave it to Spamlet to bring closure to an already stable situation. Timing my friend, timing. In regards to the whole punctuation mark inside the quotes thing, this is how we're taught in California. I've taken several honors classes in the past and this has never been an issue. By the way, thank you for clearing up the whole "gramma!ari@n%," "g^ammarian#" mess. It's just a title and I'm not married to it. Don't know where we'd be without you... |

Maybe Lisa just has her own gig? I mean, maybe its a time frame issue? Like last year. She was not at the dallas show. So I think it is her own career, and nothing more, that has her away for the moment.

Lisa is said to be in Munich for the sound check but two hours later not on stage.
Listening to the Munich show I cannot believe that there has been struggle whatsoever with Lisa one hour before the show has started. What kind of character is Damien? Is he that damn cool he seems to be? Does it have any effect on him and his performance? I cannot find out. When I listen to 9 Crimes, Volcano, Rootless Tree and The Professor with La Fille danse I always miss Lisa's voice, which fits so well and makes these songs to special moments of any performance. She is one of the big points to define himself from other artists like e.g. James Blunt or Tom McRae. I instantly hope that Damien does not misprize Lisa's part in his success and popularity among us fans. I'm curious for all what Lisa will bring out next, she is one of the most talented young female artists. Therefore, for me, Damien without Lisa is like self-mutilation . |

No doubt WE know that, but unfortunately not all of the Radio Stations, TV Broadcasts, musical press and occasional listeners. They often call Damien in connection with the other artists. But let me repeat my question, is Damien that damn cool? If you listen to the Munich Bootleg you will find no proof for any struggle with Lisa and the result not do the show. Remenber, they did the sound check together and something weird must have happened then. Last edited by foryou; 03-19-2007 at 12:41 PM. |

It's not a question of coolness, it's about quality if you compare to James Blunt. Imo, that is.

he didnt say "**** off" directly which is far more offensive than saying "go **** yourselves".

Enough with the personal opinions.
It's clear there was some sort of event which caused Lisa to skip out on performances, and its unclear when if ever she'll perform again. All the rest of this thread is just idiotic. No one cares if you think Damien is too nice to get into a fight with Lisa and still perform (and you're wrong anyway, check out his birthday show in I believe 2002). No one knows why she left, where she is now, what she's doing, etc. And it truly doesn't matter if you think Damien is mean or not. |

I do not like the sound of this at all. I have to be honest I love damiens music, but without Lisa i feel it just becomes ordinary. They contrast eachother so well. I feel if Lisa left the band then Damien Rice is in some serious trouble. The songs will still be amazing but i feel lisa brought the soul to the music. When i saw Damien for the first time in Boston late last year, it was not he who won me, to be completely honest Lisa blew my mind. The connection they shared on stage made the performance truely incredible. As you can probably tell by now I am a huge lisa fan. I almost want to start a messageboard wide petition begging lisa to stay in the band.

He can easily find another vocalist. Lisa is magical, but so am are many other artists he could pick from. Besides, it will be great for her to go solo.
