Default Audition song

Soo.. Next week I'm going to an audition, it's basically for a really, really good choir and I soo badly want to get in. So now I'm looking for ideas for a song to sing, any song will do, it just needs to show of vocal abilities really well... So if you have any suggestions, please feel free to help me on this!
Thanks

well, what are your vocal abilities - are you alto, mezzo soprano, soprano? Are you good in the higher, or lower notes? Do your voice sound prettier when you sing loud or quiet? Is you voice very trained, ie can you pull off a difficoult piece and go easily from one vocal quality to another? Is it a classical or rythmical choir? and last but surely not least - which pieces/songs do you just love to sing, so that you can put your heart and soul in there?

Wow.. Many questions.. I'm sort of a mezzo soprano, I sound better in the slightly higher notes and volumes. I don't have a terribly well-trained voice, so I'm looking for something a bit safe, but that doesn't sound childish and simple.
I'm sort of thinking maybe St. James Infirmary or Factory Girl as sung by Sinead O'Connor.. It's a pretty classical choir, so I don't think I'll go for anything that's very out there..

If you know a good gospel tune it might suit your voice too - however, i can't think of anything right now /
Or how about Tom Traubert's blues (Waltzing Mathilda)? Or something simple, slightly sentimental (in a good way) and folky like that - if you can put some emotion into it you will sweep them off their feet. Or maybe something bluesy like one of Nina Simone's songs will work well, if you pitch them up a bit - Feeling good, ie.
And then there are of course some beautiful jazz ballads if you like that sort of thing - some of them are a bitch to sing but I tend to think, the simpler the more beautiful. "Summertime" is of course a classic that many classical singers also sing. If you have a bluesy voice it can sound really great. Also, My funny Valentine, although if you're singing without accompagnement (yikes! that wa sprobably danish spelling, hoppas du forstår) it can be difficoult to sing because of the tricky intervals here and there, or at least that's my experience.
