The Eurovision thread
i thought id make this as a laugh... just watching the heats at the moment and its had 8 countries so far and its very entertaining (for all the wrong reasons)
i hate our entry... 2 pieballs from athlone representing us in a shambles of a competition sorry this isnt just a hate thread its just to see others opinion on the contest if nothing it gives hope to aspiring musicians to see what junk is accepted in a contest of musicians whats your view on the contest? good & bad welcome

i've stopped watching there after the 11th song - Estonia i think.. The cringe rating is waaaaay of the scale it has to be said! But actually i thought the Netherlands were really good, she could defo sing, so too could the Estonian boyo - but i swear if he said "ce soir" one more time!!!!
Has Ireland been on yet? I havent heard the song before - or witnessed the 2 pieballs...

i cheer for the austrian one, the eclectic mix of latino music and polka was just so miserable it ought to have a show of its own

Dear God!A eurovision thread..I always hated that contest! It's just BAD music!I'm from Greece and i we've sent this Paparizou chick who according to all the eurovision specialists (morons) is going to win this year!I hope she doesnt..They've been playing the song on and on and if she does win we'll be in deep s#%t!!Anyway does anyone remember the act Greece sent four years ago?A song called S.A.G.A.P.O?They were these sorryest of guys dressed up like robocops marching on stage! We still laugh with that guy hear and i wanted to know if anyone remembers that sorry song.

Has Wogan had heart failure yet?
BBC has gone duff on the TV here and its driving me mad. Wogan going insane is the highlight of the Eurovision... ETA: Eeeee! Preacher! You rock!

i find it funny how serious some countries take it... ukraine take it as a huge victory and a gateway into getting into the EU
fair play it does promote their country i didnt personally watch it as i could find a million better things to do on a saturday night but i dont think you need to watch it anymore to know who is gonna vote for who

Almost all the songs had those big drums, it was quite funny, lol.
I didn't like any song much, but I think it was funny that the four countries that got last are the four countries that always will be in the competition. :P

the uk say they dont take it seriously anymore cos they cant win or get any points... if they started winning im sure they would take it more seriously
anyways its a sham of a show for western countries to prance around the stage and vote for each other... makes good entertainment tho

you are right there simon but i certainly don't remember in my lifetime Terry Wogan taking it seriously!!! we have had some shams over the past few years though, what was the last one that won it for us? Katrina and the Waves....yeh it might of won but dear god it was shocking!!!
but despite all that i bloody love watching it, think it's hilarious!! |

"...greek wedding" !! my dad is just like the dad in that movie! (except for the weird windex thing) my mom and i couldn't stop laughing when we went to see it in the theater
btw: greek weddings are a total blast! lots of ouzo and manic circle dancing if the eurovision contestants had ouzo in them i can see why they won lol... Last edited by SisterMidnight; 05-27-2005 at 02:05 AM. |
