Seems to match what GlttrGrl was saying Glen Hansard told her:
http://www.eskimofriends.com/forum/s...8&page=4&pp=30 Though Glen said the Wiltern on the 8th AND 9th...

Man oh man, I'm going to hate to miss this. Love the Orpheum. It's similar size as the Wiltern but with seats. A lot of artists who want to play the Wiltern wind up at the Orpheum now when the Wiltern is booked.
Oh, and it says tickets for that go on sale on Friday Nov. 3rd at 10 am Ah well Just going to have to enjoy paradise twice as much to make up for missing the show...

Valerie, I'm sorry you're going to miss this show, but I'll see you at the November show right? I'll report to you on this show, if I get tickets...I just sent Ticketmaster a text msg reminder thingy! Yay, can't wait!!

I just saw the 12/8 show info in Ticketmaster too. They send me reminders and presale stuff, so if I get anything for this show (presale) I'll post it here! Very excited, I love the Orpheum. I saw Ani DiFranco there last month.
Ticket prices aren't too bad either, $33 and up (I forgot the upper range price, mid $40s?)

I was at the Orpheum last night for Ray LaMontagne and was blown away by the venue. This may be the ultimate venue for seeing a Damien Rice performance. The sound levels were just right, the sight lines are great...I can't imagine there's really a bad seat in the place. And it has all the old vaudeville theater details. Beautiful, brilliant venue.
David Ford opened the gig and he was really amazing. I had no idea who he was, but I knew most of his songs from KCRW. Terrific performance. Ray was fighting a cold. I didn't realize he was as retiring on stage as he is in interviews. But those songs! Wow. Damien's Dec 8 show is sold out. I was able to buy a ticket to the Dec 9 show. If you're in or near LA, get a ticket. |

I was in row V of the orchestra section, seat 25, I think. Two guys sat in front of me and I still had a very clear sight line to the stage. Clear view of everything. Unbelievable, really, considering I was near the very back. Even though it was off toward the side, I didn't feel like I was craning my neck. The only problem is the aisles are a little small and there are cup holders that bang against your knees.
I just got a ticket to see Damien on the 9th and I'm in Row M. Highly recommend seeing anyone in this venue. |

i've never seen damien (and i'm excited as hell)
i was wondering, is everyone going to be sitting throughout the show? i've seen lots of different kinds of bands, and i don't really know what to expect with damien. |
