well, all I know is that most, if not all, of O was recorded in his house/apartment...as far as mixing and all that...I can only assume that same? but that's all I got

He got a loan of 50K from David Arnold to buy recording/mixing equipment. Don't know brand or anything.
Or are you more interested in knowing when he recorded and why? Basically whenever it 'felt right'... |

I know the string set in Amie was recorded outside of his home (dur?) And if you read the little pamphlet closely on the page dedicated to Cheers Darlin' it says something about glasses sitting on his kitchen table...which he simply recorded into the song. And uhm...the gregorian chant was recorded somewhere special...the children in older chests: on the streets outside...somewhere I guess? I read something about the voices in Older Chests somewhere... But most of it was recorded at home, which is way too cool. =DEdited by: idiosynful

Damien talks about the recording of 'O' in this interview: http://wfuv.venaca.com/archive/3543.asx
A lot of it was recorded in Damien's house, with them sitting round in a circle and Damien said you can hear some of Tomo's drums coming in on the vocal track while Damien was singing. the 'orchestra' effect was done by Vyvienne playing layers of cello on top of each other and a violinist added some violin parts too. the opera singer in Eskimo is a friend of Vyvienne's. Damien said in a different interview that the album cost 10K to record. " For the past two years, his life has been ‘O’, an 11-track album recorded entirely in the mobile studio that “allowed for spontaneity”. “I don’t think it’s a sad album, I think it’s an album about sad things”.
