i love marky

tho i have to admit a lot of that has to do with he just has such a super sweet personality. what a sweetheart! and he's funny...

...i don't think his songwriting and music is as rich and complex as damien's but its simple and heartfelt and beautiful. i don't think boring... tho some songs i can't listen to at all (suzanne for ex.)

yeah! i love marky so much and you're right sis, he is the nicest guy, he came out right onto the street in line with us and just talked for about 20 min and made sure he said hello to everyone. I love that feeling when you first discover someone and you have to hear all their music and learn all about them right away...that's being alive right there.

those are fantastic pics corey! you are really an excellent photgrapher those are the best shots i've seen of this recent tour by far

marky had some things to say about boston in his tour diary...

also the awful thing is that --it's really uncool of me to say please just shut the **** up-- really un--cool--cause it makes me look foolish and cude and also the reaction isn't always ////ever ////a good one--

so I don't know what to say --- the gig was ****ing great-- except for the few----the always --the alwasy --the few--and they'll do it at all the rest of the shows that they'll attend for the rest of their lives --and they will never --understand ---what the big deal is.....why did geary have a go last night--what was alll that about ???hahaha

point is his tour diary is just excellent... i love it! he really lets you inside his world and gives a lot of insight into the life of a performing musician... wish damien would do something like it...

yep i was there! i brought two friends as well... they really dug him as did i... it was a gamble since i'd never listened to his music before but i was pleasantly surprised... talented guy indeed...

sistermidnight... thanks for the kind words on the photographs! i will have to send the link to the website as i see he has photos up there from fans... and no i wasn't one of those rowdy annoying bastard audience members! haha... every show has them (except for damien's somehow)... i'm surprised he didn't write anything about me... i was bopping all over the place taking photographs from all different angles... i aws waiting for him to scream out "hey... photo guy... sit down and enjoy the music!"

It's a cool new web site (easy sign-up required) where you can see what events (mostly gigs, but can be other types, too) are on in each city.

You can mark gigs as "attending" or "watching" which will create your personal list of future gigs that you want to keep an eye on.

You can also add friends or people with similar taste, so you see what gigs they are going to/watching.

You can also add/promote your own events. I was the one who added Mark's gig, for instance. The Boston, NY, LA, London metros are quite busy.

Mark's recent gig at the The Kennedy Center in Washington, DC is now online as a video. It's from August 29th, just a few days after I saw him here in Boston.

It's a 1-hour performance. It's worth reading the corresponding tour diary entry: "new york--d.c--new york--hee hee" also.

it streams the video of adam and eve which is pretty cool and has tour dates and news.. he's featured on the loggerheads soundtrack coming out sometime this month along with numerous songs by the lovely and talented patty griffin (see my avi) so thats also very cool
