its taken me a while to find out what The Story of O actually meant. you guys prob already know but just incase ...here it is

The original lyric was "story of love" and it's nothing to do with the book.

he has also said he knew nothing of the book when he sang 'read me the story of o', he thought of the O as more of a circular thing
