Hi All!

Just joined up. I was hanging on the "official" DR site, but ppl are getting a little pissy over there, so thought I would see how things are in your neck of the woods.

Just scored tickets to see Damien at the Barrymore Theater in Madison, Wisconsin on April 7th!!! I'm soooo psyched! Have to travel about 200 miles but well worth it! I don't have a date but my 12 year old son is going with me. It will be his first concert and he's excited about it. Can't wait to see Damien and the rest of the gang live!

Nice to meet you all! Really like the site so far.Take care and Happy St. Paddy's Day to all!

Welcome Sis... hope you don't mind your son hearing swearing... Damien does a lot of it.

I just mention that as it's not what you'd expect from 'O'... some other thread mentioned someone who brought their kid along to a Damien gig (I think in the UK?) and was shocked by some of it...

Some of his heavier songs are quite heavy on the language... maybe check the lyrics page here to see if you approve.

Welcome again.

Thanks for the warm welcome, guys. And thanks for the heads up, Wheels, but swearing is nothing my boy hasn't heard before, and I'm clued into how some of the gigs over there in Ireland and the UK have been going and if I were Damien I'd be swearing a bit too. I'm also very familiar with Damien's lyrics (even those not featured on "O").

Frankly, I myself cuss like a sailor and am a pretty progressive person/parent who is not easily shocked. And my boy is a very mature twelve who understands the license allowed to artists in their artistic expression- ex. he understands that a nude in an artistic representation such as a painting or photography is not porn and is in no way obscene. I can't think of a better first concert experience for him than to see Damien live, but your comment got me thinking and may post a thread concerning how people feel about the appropriateness of Damien's music for children and young people.

But as far as I'm concerned-- yes, I approve!!!!
