I voted Dogs, but I realy wanted to vote cocounut skins too. Man I love that song. I love coconut skins because it sends a message that I find very uplifting and raw.
Dogs is just beautiful. The quaint little rhythm edges towards you, quite shyly, but is so warm and... beautiful. But, I nearly didn't vote because th ending is so sad. I didn't hear it the first few times, then when I did and realised what it meant it made me suddenly really sad. :-( Such a good song though... I have to keep listening to it. lol "I wait for [it] like a dog" Not so keen on Me, My Yoke, and I. It does what it does well, but it's too abrasive and violent for me to always enjoy listening to it. :-) xxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXxXx |

I'd definitely go with me my yoke and I cause it's about dirty masturbation. Has a real sense of truth and the effect of turning me on.

Can't think of a better front to back album in recent memory, aside from Muse's Absolution ... but over time, the song that will make it onto mix CD's will be Grey Room, wait ... Coconut Skins ... no, definately Elephant. Seriously though, can the man write a bad song?

I have to pick just one? Ooooh that's hard, let's see.... Ok I've made my decision - Me My Yolk and I, though I was itching to choose Rootless Tree. Love so many of the songs.

It's so hard to pick just one, but I chose Elephant, because it is the first one I really fell in love with. I also love Grey Room, Animal's Were Gone, Coconut Skins, and Rootless Tree. I love the whole album lol. The Rat Within The Grain is also one of my favorite Damien songs.

ya.. it's really hard to pick considering that all are so great, but they have slightly different moods in each one.. so it's not easy at all.. but when i voted way back i think i voted coconut skins because when he told the story to us in vancouver when i saw him live.. i was just like.. "god that is so damien" and ya.. i just like the song and the story with it. but any song could really get my vote.. but ya... meh..

I think Rootless Tree overall for me, cos when it's turned up load on your ipod, there's nothing that can beat it! It gives me shivers! It's probably been that since I first heard the whole album
Sleep Don't Weep comes a close second though, it's just utterly beautiful, that song.... |

this is tough because although i love love love rootless tree...i much prefer it when he does it live. he opened with a slower version (which included a beautiful cello part by vyv) at the greek and when he roared that first **** you...i nearly fainted. so from the album...id have to say accidental babies. the meaning is so simple but the words and the way he sings it adds so much depth. how he can capture so much emotion in one song...amazing.

it's haunting how you can reconnect w/ a song so quickly when the lyrics match word for word w/ what's happening in your life
