i recently got "o" and inside the album, on the top right of theCheers Darlin page he scribbles some stuff.can anyone understand it? what does he write there because i can't make out athing.and what about on the bottom of thepage beforeAmie and Eskimo?

Yeah, he sang at the Berlin Wall when it came down - in a jacket that had flashing lights on it. It was absurd.

WELL... BACK TO THE ORIGINAL POINT...!

AT THE TOP, YEAH IT TELLS ABOUT THE SONGS CREATION. MY MEMORY IS A LITTLE RUSTY, BUT IT SAYS SOOMETHING ALONG THE LINES OF WAHT TIME 'SHE' LEFT, WHAT TIME HE STARTED TO DRINK, WHAT TIME HE WASN'T SOBER. WHAT TIME HE SAT DOWN TO RECORD EACH DIFFERENT PART TO THE SONG, THEN IT SEZ WHAT TIME IT WAS FINNISHED.

12:30am - she was taken home

12:44am - grabbed a taxi.

1:12am - arrived, set up microphone.
*banged belly. recorded ???. banged the neck of the guitar. recorded. banged glasses together that were sitting on table. recorded. rubbed hands together fast. recorded. looped it all together. played sad chords over. recorded.

2:15am - still not sober, frustrated. grabbed mic.turned high eq up to 11. head phones up loud..parents in bed. words just fell out on the spot. recorded.

3:27am - rang david. played him song over the phone.

3:43am - sober. Cheers Darlin!

It looks to be a diary entry or notes of how he came about to write the song. So he was in the bar, chatting to this girl, thought he was in, he wasnt!, she went home with her boyfriend. He grabbed a taxi. And it takes off from there.....

Do you think he wrote that on the night? Maybe he's very meticulous and notes everything incase he has to recreate it...

I note that he didn't write down what David (presumably Arnold) said to him when he phoned at half three in the morning, pissed, to play him a song he'd just recorded... [img]smileys/smiley17.gif[/img]

Alot of song writers keep a note book for jotting down lyrics etc. I'd imagine he did/does, and that's a sample.
