Falling Slowly a big big hit again in the US... top 15 on Itunes... but sadly... not the Swellies but the American Idol version by the winner & the runner-up, this Lee guy and this Bowerbox girl

Oh, American Idol is a global desease. In Spain is called: Operación Triunfo. Terrible name for a terrible tv program.
By the way, I never knew nothing about the "Low rising" contest. Did you heard something?¿? |

They were on a TV show in the U.S. I didn't know she dyed her hair red!!
And yes, "Falling Slowly" has been a hit on American Idol. I didn't care much for the arrangement, but at least they're getting some promotion! It's funny because in the previous season when Kris Allen sang the song they weren't a fan of him doing something that nobody would know (even though certain judges also complimented him on choosing something that he personally liked), and then they go and have them sing the song again this year! ...I can't believe I remembered all that! LOL! I'm really not even that much of an Idol fan anymore. I promise! Last edited by October Sky; 06-19-2010 at 04:12 AM. |

they're adding lots of unusual places to the tour, even if Europe they've added Poland and Portugal, which most artists usually skip...

just read the latest Marketa twitter and looks like she submitted a song for the latest Twilight film!!!!!!!!! but did not get accepted... she mentions it as if it was a song of 'hers' not the Swellies...
MarketaIrglova So I saw the new Twilight movie, Eclipse. My favorite of the three so far. I do like the books a lot, the films do them justice :-) MarketaIrglova I wrote a song for the Eclipse actually, but sadly it didn't get accepted. There's some lovely songs in it though. I like Florence and Sia

And you guys said that the name Mar Ono was harsh...

He said he is only doing a tour with The Frames, for now... and then if one thing leads to another then they'll make another record too... but I think he never said the Swell Season are breaking up etc...

There will be a Frames tour this winter. Mar said that The Frames will be touring in November and December, and during that time she'll be in Chicago recording an EP that she hopes to have out early next year.

I DESPISE American Idol! My parents LOVE it, along with Dancing with the Stars and all of the other mainstream crap that was shoved down my throat growing up. I don't know about other countries but it seems like in America, the masses refuse to look outside the tv box to find authentic, talented, original musicians. My sister had never heard of The Swell Season until she went to see them with me back in May. NONE of my friends had heard of them. I rarely go to concerts, the last one was Fiona Apple a few years ago. Awesome show. Do talentless American Idol type pop stars get shoved down people's throats in other countries like they do over here??? URRGGHHH. I needed to vent about it. Maybe there should be a vent thread!
