Default Hows abouts a new religious & pollitical board?

i was thinking emmet, there's been a few really religion and pollitics based threads going on in "everything else" but i think quite a few people feel rather threatened by them being there as such heated debaits.

however people who create those threads in general have every right to discuss their concerns.

So what better than another board in which they could do that?
is that an implimentable thing?

Thankyou! i hope it is possible! it'd make things allot easier.

hey penguin,

thanks for the suggestion. i'll think about it, but i'm not sure that there are enough discussions like that, and my experience is that they tend to (always) end up with someone being offended or hurt and things getting personal...

thanks.

well i wasn't really saying that there should be more of the discussions; (although that maybe an effect) only that the political threads that usually arise could be out of the way, somewhere other than "everything else".

http://www.msghelp.net/- that forum has 54274 users and is a huge comunity, and they've enforced a "Testing & Trashing" board, which is basically full of the stuff that isn't alloud in the rest of the forum.

it's basically the idea of putting them somewhere out the way for users who like to ignore them, but making them easilly accessable for those who do. and it means no-one complains.

How exactly are people threatened by them? They're words on a screen!

Don't think there's enough demand for such a forum...or how it would change things at all - the same threads are still gonna be there. You have a choice not to look at them in Everything Else.

lol!
u just like status!!! BEHOLD I AM...

THE ADMINASTRATOR !! mwahahaha

i dno about offended but u no, there was the thread that emmett closed because it was full of generalisation etc etc and then the thread starter got all angry! wheras if there was a clear cut place for it to be, then if it was in the everything else board, it could be moved. It just makes things clearer to have a designated place. because not everyone agrees that there should be political issues discussed, as emmett stated - it tends to get personal. I just think it would be a happy medium.

doors - i think there is a bit of a demand, i'd rather have 1 underused board and board used happilly by everyone, than 1 board which many people aren't happy with.

i think there are quite a few people in this lil comunity that do want to talk about those things.

Benefits to people who like political, ethical, religious threads:
a place when it is unquestionably ok to discuss the topics u want to

Benefits to people who DON'T like political, ethical, religious threads:
puts them in a place where they don't interfere with the positivity of the boards

drawbacks?

I would like a politics board in the igloo. It might encourage more talk and debate and such. Of course things are bound to get heated. That's pretty much unaviodable in politics discussions, but surely we eskimos could be civilised about it. It's fairly common in a lot of other forums. Maybe we could at least try it out for a while.
