Question What track can you most relate to and why?

Hi guys,
Was just wondering what track you could most relate to and why?

Mine, would be Blowers Daughter as this song has got me through some very tough days!

Lonelily at the moment. Someone I love's just moved away and the lines:
"I'm tryin' to forget, you're coming home.
I'm tryin' to move on, you're coming home.
I'm tryin' to forgive you're coming home.
You haven't called, yet you're coming home."

Get me every time.
I also relate to the sheer chaos at the end of "I Remember", especially when I play along, and it's almost like an orgasmic release, pure emotion there, I can tell you.

It has to be Delicate. When I first heard it I was dating a girl who during the rougher stage of our relationship could not come up with anything to soothe me as I soothed her and everything she said sounded cliched. So I heard:

So why'd you fill my sorrows
With the words you've borrowed
Why'd you sing Hallelujah
If it means nothing to ya
Why'd you sing with me at all?

It also helped that we always sang along to Hallelujah together. But when I heard that I basically flipped. So yea, this song.

I second Fly Away; great topic, Princess Impossible!

Also tough topic...

I think that I most relate to Silent Night. I know Damo doesn't sing it, but those lyrics, I sit down and Lisa sings them so purely and with so much emotion. The whole song echoes despair and depression. Its a great way to get through a long, teary night.

So turn and walk away
I've overspoken
Said all that I can say
I know that I can kneel
And I could cry
And I know that I could show you how I died
But what good would it do?
Give the world another fool

That feckin girl why ? lol

THIS IS EASY!

Childish, no joke =)

except for...

"I'm so unfaithful"

"Well I'm so uncaring"

"And if you read through my behaviour
You'll find I'm a creep"

everything but those!! i swear =)

Hmmm, i think it's cheers darlin' for me. Well it was about a year ago. Coz then i got dumped (BOOO @ him). And I've never loved anyone as much as I loved him. And i think that in the song you can kinda feel his pain, the way he sings it, it's so amazing! Why are guys so complicated, im considering to turn into a lesbian hahah

Amie - nearly all lines (some literally, some metaphorically) relate to our brief relationship

guys are easy, being gay would be so convenient.

bastard men only care about sex and looks, so if you offer more of both, then ur sorted.

non-bastard men are the same, but don't want to be. so they will be more faithfull etc etc etc.

that's men absolutely sorted ^

i can really relate to... almost everything damienesque!

what about older chests? haven't heard anyone mention this song but it's always gotten to me...especially when I see how my 81-year old father looks back on his life more and more...kind of song that makes you turn inward and think about...time and how without it...what is there?

Time, there's always time
On my mind
Pass me by, I'll be fine
Just give me time

Default I thought this would be easy

I read the question, and as ive said assumed this would be easy, ive listend To "O" so consitantly over the past year or 2. His b-sides and covers, related to them so ofton, i thought right....................... how do u know which one. If its not the sheer, Fruoicousness of I remember, when YOu hear damiens prospective and he so verbaly violent, i remember in a simalar situation screaming those lyrics or of a simalar vien, obviously with that subject comes cheers darlin, So many people must have felt that bitter sweet tone run through the vocals. The sarcasm that seems to accedently come from every pour. (Man this is hard) Then Older chests, Most the people i know and i know i have had a moment (proabably stoned) when u look at elders and children or a differnt generation and u hear their thoughts. You hear something else. Lol. I guess i should probably answer now, unfortunetly, the song i relate to the most, Is Volcano, i met a girl who i fell in love with in a ****ing heart beat, to bad she was unfortnetly to young to treat.

older chests--

some things in life may change
and some things
they stay the same

...

just give me time

I find truth and hope in these lines

It would definitely have to be I Remember, specifically the line "I remember it well, the first time that I saw your head round the door, cause mine stopped working"

Can't even tell you how many times i've been able to relate to that. Plus, I love how it gets a little chaotic and emotional at the end.

Volcano. I'm in love with a younger woman, and it seems like lately she has cooled off towards me although the opposite is happening to me. so when I hear "she's still too young" it just kills me.

Did I say that I loathe you?
Did I say that I want to
Leave it all behind?

i've said those words to my ex boyfriend when i broke up with him
so it brings back memories whenever i hear that line.

"i can't take my eyes off of you... till i find somebody new"
cause i've just had yet another short disasterous relationship... my friends tell me im just unlucky.. i don't know why i try anymore

'We might kiss when we are alone
When nobody's watching
I might take you home
We might make out when nobody's there
It's not that we're scared
It's just that it's delicate'

Be stupid enough to fall in love with your bestfriend, like I did, you'll be living the entire lyrics

Weirdly, the song Heyday by Mic Christopher always gets me thinking.Strangly, not because he died, but in the horrible way that he died. Not even so much that it was needless, but also sort of a meaningless andpointless death

hey

All of Damien's songs relate to me in one way or another, but one thing's for sure, if I'm feeling down, I just pop O into my cd player, and all my worries are washed away. Damien's music is so easy to get lost in, you sit down and listen, and even though you've heard his songs a hundred times, you find a new meaning to them every time you hear it. If I had to choose one favorite though, it would have to be Cannonball, I mean, it has absolutely beautiful music, and the lyrics are just absolutely great. Especially the lines, "There's still a little bit of your song in my ear, there's still a little bit of your song I long to hear." This has special meaning to me because of a girl I used to date. She had to go back home to Slovakia, and every time I hear Cannonball, and those words, I think of her, and it brings back the memories we shared together.

Depends how many drinks i've had really and who i'm thinking about or what I've been up to in my mind on that particular day.

I can go from really feeling "Delicate" to feeling so much like THE "Woman Like A Man" depending on the amount of drinks I've consumed!! Multi-personality? perhaps...

Gotta say, it was The Blower's Daughter which haunted me so thats probably the one i relate/d to the most.

Should I go, if she calls out my name?
And if she bleeds, should I wipe up the stain?
And if I'm low, can I drown in this rain?
I guess I'm no good, I guess I'm insane

And I hate when you say
That I never fight for you
Sometimes you breathe
All over my scar
And you always end up
Closer than close
That's where I give in

if u replace the she with he- this is my life at the moment

fun fun fun

"we might make out when nobody's there, it's not that we're scared, it's just that it's delicate"

loved someone i really shouldn't have ever loved and this song was just too close to home. the secretism was too real.

forced myself to listen to it when was getting over it though because i love it far to much to be related only to him.

obviously certain lines of practically all the other songs relate too tho
.....loving is fine if it's not in your mind but ive ****ed it up now too many times....
.....can't take my mind of you, til i find somebody new.....
.....still a little bit of your taste in my mouth....

god he's a genius isnt he?! lol.
