Damo playing the point tonight
Just heard that Mr Rice was supporting the Frames at the Point tonight. Would have liked to have been there but the frames just dont cut it for me.If they were just a small bit more together, I would have liked them, got a ticket and thus inadvertantly got to see Damien probably preview some of his new music...

Mr Rice played Blowers Daughter 2, Volcano and Blowers Daughter with Lisa.
My friend called me during the set a bit shocked...so was I...more so for the fact that he's from Dublin and I'm in England.

it was funny. i was 99% sure he'd be there with lisa but had no idea he was going to play. once the chalets went off, simon the roadie went out and took away their equipment and just put out an acoustic guitar which i didn't recognise. then this guy who looked remarkably like a hobo, with a patchwork jumper, long curly hair and long beard came onstage and i turned to the people i was with, pointed and said "..that's damien rice."

ok, so this Blower's Daughter Part II. I just saw it on this thread, and did a search on the boards, but didn't find anyplace to get the song. Anyone know where I can get this song? Anyone know what it's about? Also, I wish he comes to Madison at the Barrymore, I would love to see him there.

You should move to madison, it's a great city. The Barrymore, the Orpheum, and the Kohl Center get a lot of shows. Also, it's not far from Alpine Valley either (Wish dmb would do a dvd or cd of one of their alpine performances. Dave has said it is his favorite venue to play at). |

disapointed with the songs he played though, another oppurtunity like the chirsty moore gig to showcase some new material, like, come on, hes' starting to sound like his own covers band at this stage, there fantastic songs, though the phrases 'past glories' and 'flogging a dead horse' come to mind.....

id agree to showcase new material if it was his own gig... but playing a few songs as a special guest he should stick to what people know
sure O can sell a few more times before the new album

I'm nearly sure O is still in the Irish Top 30... maybe I'm wrong! Not too many albums stay charted for that length of time! Also... he's hardly 'flogging a dead horse' if he played an unreleased track? I dunno... maybe I'm just biased.
