I saw them in Gothenburg with the whole band and Mark Geary. Been dying to tell everyone how amazing that was. Might have been the best concert I've ever seen.

Review from the concert in Gothenburgs biggest newspaper. It's in Swedish but mainly he says that it was by far the best concert in Sweden this year. Pretty big words.

Also, its not fair either that I can't go to that Dublin gig, we should get a taping task force there.

I think the blog just says they are gonna stop touring, not that they're ending the Swell Season. On the contrary, I read it as they're gonna take some time off and then do album 2!!

Borneoman ur take on it is spot on

I don't think this gig will go into playedlastnight to be honest just because of the nature of it...on the other hand it is very sure now that damien is gonna be around so I am grabbing my tickets:P...

Looks like the vicar street gig is cancelled

. Ticket sales were really slow and it is a gig for charity. Their going to reschedule it for next year I'm hoping it'll be in april/may so I might actually get to go!

just because i wanted to get that warm lovely feeling of joy from listening to marketa and glen, i wanted to find the performance they did at the oscars on youtube but it's gone!!!! it was taken down because of legal rights or something.. did anyone save a recording of it u can send me or something? it was such a cute and lovely performance! The only ones i can find are ones people took with their video cameras and the quality isn't very good... :/

edit: the quality isn't that good I'm afraid. if you do a search in emule you'll find it too. I'm trying to download it but I have some sort of issue with the ports and emule isn't downloading anything for me lately

The Swell Season on Backstage Sessions

In September of this past year when The Swell Season rolled through Nashville Glen taped two songs for a website called Backstage Sessions. It's a great set up wherein the artist performs in the back of the venue in a very casual setting. The folks at Backstage have gotten some really great stuff from the likes of Fleet Foxes, Bon Iver and The Whigs among others. The staff at the Ryman were kind enough to turn a blind eye to their on-site recording policy and in turn we got Glen doing two new songs. The first one is up and it's called "In These Arms". It should be on the new record in the coming next year. The second tune recorded was "Back Broke", a song he's been doing live this past year.

The Swell Season on Austin City Limits TV Show

The Swell Season is honored to be part of this seasons Austin City Limits TV Coverage. During the performance they were joined by non-else but the great Daniel Johnston for a song.It was the first time Daniel had been on the show and it was truly a magical moment. Okay, I think the first link is to a video from this gig: Glen Hansard & The Swell Season Band - "A Night To Remember" - Telc Castle - Czech Republic - 2006-08-01

And the second is from a Glen solo gig: 17 june 2006 -- za vodou festival, ostrava, czech republic

I have no idea how to seed anything on a torrent, but I think I have a boot of that Telc gig somewhere... though I don't remember Glen doing Devil Town in that set.
