So, how big a deal is this Shortlist thingy? All you US fans tell us Europeans...

From what I hear it's pretty big.

Well if its the US equivalent to the Mercury Music Prize it must be a fairly well respected award. There's some great artists in the 'Long list'. Delighted to see Dave Mathews nominating "Turin Brakes"!! GOOD call Dave!! [img]smileys/smiley2.gif[/img]Turin Brakes are class!


As soon as i saw Nic Harcourt's name in the 'Nominating Listmaker' section, i knew itwould behe who nominated Damo!


Think of the amount of people in the States who would check out the artist who won that prize. Your talking serious numbers!

Well like 70% of the people in America didnt know that the World Cup was being held there in '94, so im sure the 'Shortlist Awards' couldgo unknown to a fair amount of you, and still have a large following.
