shock horror ive come home to find out that i missed the solo acoustic thing he did in the leftfield bar which im devistated about as ive always wanted to see him playing without the band (no offence to the rest of the band i think they are all magicians of rock but its nice to see him make the magic on his own). but apart from that i did catch the wee irish fellow on the other stage. his set was quite good though mostly just o with b/d part 2 and lonely soldier chucked in plus a vocano on the spot make up some lyrics about glastonbury. unfortunately though alot of damien was drowned out by the bass being too high at times and the crowd singing along. im not sure what was covered on tv but a drunk/drugged man a few feet away from me when there was a silencebetween a couple of the songs bellowed out randomly 'yeah paeodophile!' probably a delayed reaction to the oasis who cover from the previous day.

additional review he came back for an encore viv and tomo first to play 7 nation army then the rest of them. damien picked up his guitar just as he touched the guitar a string snapped (not the a string but a string think it was the fat low e string). rather than wasting the valuable time left his roadie chap with the long hair an glasses brought him another guitar, shocking id never seen footage of him without that as his acoustic. the guitar he had looked pretty crap too very small compared to his beast. still managed a cracking version of volcano on it though and that finished the set off.

They showed this on the BBC. I wondered what he was doing, arsing about
with his guitar and all. A saw the string snap, and then he was faffing
about with it for what seemed like ages. Luckily it was just about the
time Lisa was singing the second verse of "volcano", so it gave him a
bit of time to sort things out. After she'd finished singing the verse
she sort of went over and tried to help (By trying to help, I mean
looked at him bemused).

Next thing he's got this titchy little acoustic guitar (looked exactly
the same guitar as the one I had aged six. My mum has a picture of me
playing it in my underpants on her fireplace....cruel woman) and is
whacking out the Cannon riff on it. It's the first time I've seen him
playing anything other than his battered electric acoustic too.

Typical of the BBC again to show the bit where his guitar busted. I
don't know why they didn't just show footage of him taking a poo and
show us that and be done with it.

Complaining aside, they did show all of Muse's cracking set tonight,
which didn't make up for the Damo fiasco, but will make me sleep easier
anyway.

Hahaha....I was wondering whether that was a Glastonbury shot, as
Damo was messing about in the healing fields and all that malarky over
the course of the weekend.

But of course he has short hair at the moment.....unless he's wearing a wig in this shot

Way cute pic of Damo and Lisa, Cali! Is that from this year or last year, though? Damien's hair looks too long for present-time.

Yeah that's got to be from last year. Those two don't seem to smile at
each other anymore!
Brilliant gig at Glastonbury, though. Lisa spent most of the gig sitting at
the keyboard looking bored and Damo seemed kinda' pissed off.

Yeah....I kind of got that impression. Lisa did look a bit like a spare
wheel at times. Even when she was playing the guitar, she didn't look
like she was playing anything, just standing there with it on.

I think the big stage dwarfed them a little visually, and they looked a
little awkward, but the set sounded great anyway...from what I've heard
of it anyway.

Damien's big set was by no means a poor one but it was missing some of the dynamism that I've seen from them in the past.

On such a cold and miserable and wet day I think that busting out some of the rockier new songs would have gotten the crowd into it more (rootless tree or face perhaps), it was a good set but it paled in comparrison to the show I saw at vicar street in december or even when they played at glastonbury last year, my friend who hadn't seen them since Glasto last year enjoyed it and so did most of the people around me from listening to the comments when it was over. Perhaps its just because I know how amazing they can be when a show is just merely "very good" I'm dissapointed in it, thats kind of sad.

Not that I really care but one thing struck me when watching the show, Lisa was looking well in her red off the shoulder number but I think that Vyv was far more practical by rocking the green wellies.

Glad to see that noone got sucked into the ground by the mud and everyone made it home ok. Was no one else at the set in Left Field?

his set last glastonbury was far superior, it was like he walked on and was chucking songs out on the spot last year at one point saying 'i dont know which ones you know over hear so any requests' or something like that. also telling us all the story behind i remember before plowing it out like its never been played before. gutted he didnt play anything else kinda new/unheard to the now 'o' exposed crowd this year. the drunk women infront of me moaned when damien said 'this songs called blowers daughter part two' exclaiming 'why doesnt he play the normal blowers daughter' however im sure they were in awe of how it panned into it and then creep the ultimate run together.
