I just want to say, for the record: In no way did I mean, or do I mean, that Face or Damien encourages rape. I only meant that those lyrics made the woman seem like an object to be conquered. I find the idea of women as objects for men to conquer to be degrading and humiliating. In no way did I mean Damien was raping, likes to rape, or thinks rape is a good idea. I think he is an extremely talented musician, whom I adore and have great respect for, however he wrote a lyric which offended me. Whenever I used the word rape I meant it in the context of the rape of womenkind, as in the degredation of females as a whole. That is all.

Well, as far as the meaning of the song goes (everyone's said everything i would have said about sexism), it all seems rather clear to me. Well, i think it's conflicting emotions, like someone else said "love - hate". I think it's rather extreme to automatically assume that the aforementioned "degrading" lyrics means that he would actually do it and wouldn't have any ethical quarms about it. You know how in every day life people say stuff like "I wish they would die" or "I'd rather be dead" (not to dwell on the subject of death; just need examples), they don't actually mean that they would kill them or kill themself, it's just impulsive and exaggerating on the anger they have. That's precisely what's going on in this song; i'm very sure of it in fact.

Ox are a small canadian band, they're alright, my cousin (or something) plays in them. I figured it was a long shot, but stranger things have happened...

damn e-stealers, stealing all the damn e. plus you dont want jonny, his last name is crouch, which kinda sounds like crotch, think of the potential playground abuse for your kids

Ah yes, but crouch is a name derived from the latin for cross, for which another meaning is "man of the crossroads". And, if any potential e-offspring derived some kind of enjoyment from blues music- particularly Robert Johnson, he/she/it would probably appreciate such heritage. Besides, playground abuse builds moral fibre.

Whereabouts are you from in the uk? Presumably further south than lincolnshire (which, now the 22-20s have split up, also has no music scene whatsoever) if you're going to come up here.

Hehehe....noooooo of course not......just that I went from having "beautifully poetic exchanges" with young, hardly of age guys..to thinking someone 18 and a day would be better..... to being a girl's groupie...hehe

You're so fickle! Anyway, I'd love to state my case somewhat further about how fantastically superb I am, and the merits and issues with being a girls groupie (believe me I've tried many a time). But its half 3 in t'morn over here and I'm knackered from work, lack of sleep, and spontaneous songwriting. So goodnight one and all x
