Quote about Damien question

Can anyone track down that quote, from some newspaper, the gist was that Damien was the singer songwriter, that other singer songwriters are jealous of.

Is this an accurate statement? Obviously, all of us here, love his music, but does he hold this lofty position in the music community, or at least the singer songwriter genre?
