I met him once also...briefly after a show... he seemed very shy, humble and kind of quiet but was in a good mood and seemed happy at the time. I was at a loss for words and mumbled some jibberish.... and yes, he does stare you straight in the eyes and really "looks" at you though..I noticed that too. He was the sweetest, lots of smiles and very kind..gave me a hug.. *sigh*

Ooooooh, I'd love to meet him! You see, I feel I'd have the opposite reaction: I'd butcher and nag with questions. Journalistic spirit I want a hug, too. To meet him alone would be wonderful and I'd be eternally grateful, though.

Now I have a question for all of you lucky eskimos that did get the chance to meet Damien. How did it happen? For all of you, was it after a gig and you just sort of hung around outside until he appeared, or were there other ways of how it happened? Just curious.

surreality
imagine....
sittin on a few bum benches, watching another summer weekend slip away before our very eyes, eating some chips and chocolate milk, dressed in whatever was closest when we woke up that morning.... and then he walks buy, takes us a few moments to process what our eyes are telling us, but as soon as that finally kicks in we chase after him, he who is equally scruffy and dirty and chat for a while and get autographs and the guy is just nice... then he goes into a eurospar buys some groceries and hops into his getaway car with a mysterious beautiful accomplice... we later found out he went to a local beach and did a mini concert around a fire surrounded by some luky beach goesrs |

THe first time i met him i was in London,i was wandering around at bout 2o clock trying to find where the venue for the gig was that night (the bbc4 sessions 1) i was looking in the gates of a church and saw a small scruffy lookin person sittin on a bench inside. I grabbed my friends hand and decided it was Damien Rice!! I walked up and i could barely talk! My dad and my friend formed basic conversation and then he just looked at me and laughed!! That was last october and i've met him about 6 times now!! And he recognises me when he sees me!!!He's so nice!!
