Wow!! Ray Lamontagne as opening act for Damien Rice!!! What a concert!!!! Is he gonna open for Damien in all the EU dates or just this one?
Looks like he did again the slow-piano version of Rootless tree... It took me a while to realise La Stampa was "the press" |

I can translate the last bit,
He (Damien Rice) will be back in Italy on March 18 at the Conservatorio Verdi in Milano, with another great new singer/songwriter opening for him, Ray Lamontage, whose new amazing album 'Til the sun turns black' was out in America last September but is yet to find a distribution in Italy. Tickets on sale Dec 2. |

The translation is almost done, but I see you've understood well what the article says. Do you want it anyway?

At the showcase, Damien didn't say anything about Ray Lamontagne... I wonder who told rockol.it about it...

''I didn't the **** say that!": there's no need for a translation, and that's the reaction of Damien Rice after the reading of an interview, where he had been clearly misinterpreted. DR is a restless sol, who plays a bit with his eternal wretched man condition and finds rilief in music. He took the opportunity of the showcase for the press to explain why he decided not to give interviews: while introducing ''coconut skins'', he said to the few present people that who does his job has to get used to being judged, but he finds difficult to accept things he's never said, especially when his mood is precarious. That's why he decided to do a showcase without talking with the press: the mini-show scheduled music on stage and few words, the ones of his songs. DR isn't the first musician who's decided to stop talking with the press: it could be a snobbish move, but after a gig like testerday's one he can be forgiven: alone on stage, equipped with guitars, pedal keyboards and piano, he proposed songs from the new album and from the debut album ''O'', released in 2002, and become a cult album thanks to the exchange of infos. DR alternated delicate ballads like ''Elephants'' with more angry songs as ''volcano'', playing a lot with the effects of his pedal keyboards, but sometimes moving to the piano for performances like ''rootless tree' the current single (???) that in the album version is a more faster pop-rock song. His american and english tour, which is going to keep him busy until march 2007, is flying to the sold-out, showing how Rice is now much more than just a cult name. He'll be back in Italy on March,18th , supported by another great singer/songwriter, Ray LaMontagne, whose new wonderful album ''Till the sun turns black'' was released in the US last september and is waiting for someone who shares it in Italy. |

Thanks for your translation, i've e-mailed "crirque royal" asking if there is any support act known already for the brussels/belgian gig. Let's hope they reply.
